It's not a matter of what you count but what the BO counts. If that were the case, then anybody could be making definitions out of words they like as they go. According to the BO, a film, if it cannot recover its cost (which includes the marketing cost as well) by the theatrical run of it, is labeled flop. It does not matter how much it earned later or even then.

notta problem....
- some ppl go for 'verdicts'
- some ppl go for 'reviews'

it's like investment... if you invest a certain amount of money on anything, and not get any return but rather lose your investment, you would not call it a profitable venture, would you...? 😛😛
similarly, if you don't get your investment on a movie, then it is considered a flop...!
just basic economics...! 😉😛😛😛

.... i remember somewhere i read -
- dat ' baba ' ( rajini 2002 ) WAS declared 'flop' n also [years highest grosser] .
- n also ' mangal pandey ' declared 'average' n [years third highest grosser] .
.... may such flops() continue showering on stars...(actually i think stars films never get flop -its just their price-rates OR media-makeup or something) !!
........ DO PRODUCERS OR THEATER-OWNERS SUFFER LOSSES OR ITS JUST DISTRIBUTORS......???

i don't know who suffers the losses... 😕 all i know that there are losses... i imagine whoever has a share in the movie, like the theatre owner and distributors are the ones who suffer the losses... can't tell you, with surity though...!
mangal pandey was a flop... and stars also do get flops...! Hrithik's Kites was a flop....!! 😛 and now it seems Guzaarish as well... price is of course, a major factor, i imagine...!

That plus, didn't it take 100 crores to make this movie? And it made a profit of 60 crore... that is not a profit.

the budget of the movie is 60 crores!

the story is about a parapelegic! offcourse it will be indoors, not every movie needs to be scenic with song and dance, sorry i dun buy this point.

Bolly, Nukta is not talking about whether the film was supposed to be shot indoors or outdoors! Everyone knows the story is about a parapelegic and no one was expecting Ash to do 'Nimbooda' in front of Hrithik!
The point that she made was why and where is the need to spend such a huge amount, when the entire film is shot in the Sets and not on outdoor locations? Budget's go haywire mostly because of location / logistics, special effects and marketing costs...none of which apply to Guzzarish! And hence the question, where did the 60 Crores go?
