Saw the Film Cried Buckets , Not a Huge Deepika Padukone Fan (She Might have got me crazy with her dialogue delivery skills)
but i guess its time for people who say she cant act to tape their mouths the girl "SHOCKED" me , i cant believe its deepika padukone delivering those dialogues :O When did she get this good ? She did a beyond fabulous job with her role and her acting skills have literally gone 10000 higher (Ashutosh Gowariker effect or not she did really well)
And Abhishek was Brilliant he fit into his character sooo well ,
He simply was effortless and went through the whole flow of the movie very well and he carried the film out superbly , Loved his expressions and intensity in some scenes
A Simple moving and well made film , i dont expect the film to do well at the BO for obvious reasons and i also dont expect it to win any "awards" knowing how disappointing and bias last years awards were , but the film is definitely a hit all the actors did awesome work , Ashutosh Excuted the whole story very well and also Seemed to have done a great job with getting what he wanted out of Abhishek , Sikander and Deepika
id give it 4 stars

Uhh cmon now, ahbi abhi toh sab "friends" banne tha to take on the Anti Christ, Rishi Kapoor. Kya yaar. 😆 I don't reckon anyone's a flop queen, and even if they are, we will have to endure the flop queens for many more years to come. Aage chal kar Deepika, Sonam, Katrina ko hee dekhna hai. My children will have too as well.

I am definitely going to end the year with this film, because lets face it I will not watch TMK unless someone pays me 8 dollars, and I do not see that happening in the future.

Anti-Christ!😆😆😆 Rishi sounds like a character out of Dan Brown's Novel!😆 And not a good one at that! Lolz!
PS : KHJJS is a good film! It has its share of flaws, but it is a one time watch nevertheless!

Four flops in a row.....ouch! Poor Padu.

Raja Sen and Khalid Mohammad don't even mention her in their reviews. :(
QUOTE/
,

Actually Khalid Mohammed mentioned her while answering to that questions on PFC..He said that Deepika has tremendous potential and is my favorite among the current lot..This is not the film..I want to see her soar in her next.
3 films releasing in 3 months is a bit much for any actor..But to her credit they were all diverse.
I think her biggest achievement was when Farah Khan said "sorry Deepika"...she is so arrogant and pompous..for her to say it on national television was a big deal...after all who is Deepika..not even a star kid!
Karan Johar..Ranbir and even Sonam..giving Deepika so much support over her heartbreak, was probably too much For Rishi Kapoor to tolerate...after all who is she..just another girlfriend..

From representing India at Cannes to being the face of 2 of the biggest launches of iconic brands like Sony..Nescafe..Blackberry torch to being part of probably every major , exclusive event held this year..

She had a fabulous year..topped by being appreciated by critics & audiences alike in all the 5 films she starred in...

Mirchi tho lagegi na😉

I actually like mirchi.

Khalid Mohammad did not mention her in his review of KHJJS. Neither did Raja Sen. That is a fact. If he mentioned her otherwise, than that I don't know.

Ranbir Kapoor had three movies in three months. All three were critically acclaimed or/and super hits. It's not like she was shooting for them on the same day or was she?

Farah Khan said sorry to her on National TV and that's her biggest acclaim to fame? REALLY? If that's her biggest achievement, I would be very worried! And if it's the same "sorry" that I think you are talking about than she was being sarcastic but even not, seriously? Deepika's biggest achievement?? Are you a fan or a hater? Poor Padu!!

When was Karan supporting poor Padu during her heartbreak? He was firing her up so his show can be interesting. Ranbir proved her to be a liar on KWK and Padu changed colors faster than a chameleon after his video message! That's support? Poor Padu!! As for Sonam, I love that girl to pieces but she supports everyone and their goats.

Once upon a time, going to Cannes was a big deal. That was when Aishwarya went there for the first time. I am not a fan of her but you can say Aishwarya representing India was huge. Not Padu. She was there to represent her movie. Even Malika Shrewat went there to promote Hiss than! As for representing brands, every Tom, Dick, and Harry does that these days. Hell, even my flop queen does!!! Being part of every major event? Even B-listers these days are not part of every event.

But I do really admire her for one thing. Where does she find the time to do all that? Every major event, 87 movies a year, in every tv interview talking about her "ex cheating on her!" Kudos Padu! I wish I had as much energy as you!

I really want to know who those critics are who were going gaga over her in the 5 movies??? And please don't pick 5 reviews out of the 5 thousand that are out there. In that case, I can find 5 nice reviews of RGV Ki Aag too.

As for mirchi, the more mirchi in my food, the better.

Now to my Phillum Review of Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey!
I am not giving away the story, dialouges, scenes ect and spoiling the fun for those who 'do not' mind Deepika or Abhishek's current box-office status and still want to watch the film! Good for them! So I will only be critically analyzing the film from my POV and jot down what I found good or not so good about it!
First things first, KHJJS is not a patch on Lagaan and Swades! But it is much superior to WYR and somewhat on par with Jodhaa Akbar!
The film has superior production values and attention to details is evident in almost every frame of the film! And that is very important for a period film! Everything from the architecture of the era to the costumes and other minute details that might not be considered important, but play a role in the overall picture are very well attended to.
The performances range from mediocre to brilliant!
Abhishek Bachachan in the lead role is competent, but he does not shine, the way he was supposed to be! Or maybe that was a deliberate thing on part of Ashutosh Gowarikar, since this is clearly a film that lays emphasis on Ensemble Casting rather than focus on just one Hero and Heroine.
Deepika Padukone has a very limited role...she is clearly not the 'heroine' of the film! Having said that, she does an excellent job of what has been given to her! Deepika is growing as an actress with every film and regardless of what fate KHJJS has at the box-office, here is one 'actor' to look out for!
Now to the people who did leave a mark on me! Sikander Kher and Vishaka Singh! Both of them were absolutely first class! And a couple of other actors who were part of the revolutionary group! Even with their limited roles, they managed to stand out in some way or the other.
The music is average but suits the temperament of the film!
On what I thought did not work for the film.
Any period film that deals with the subject of India's struggle for Independence has to have a fairly high level of patriotism in it! Sadly, KHJJK is so restrained that it ends up looking like a well-made and engaging documentary on the Chittagong Revolution, not as an adreline fueling motion picture that has you biting your finger nails! The way Lagaan did...remember the climax with the Cricket Match!? I was on the verge of a mini heart-attack at that time!😆 KHJJK did have me reaching for my kleenex tissue once in a while, but it did not leave me numb with shock and awe the way films like Rang De Basanti did!
The first half is a drag fest! The director takes too long to establish the characters, main story line and the drama...a period drama need not necessarily be fast-paced, but it has to be entertaining, if the film is being made for Commercial purposes! In that regard, KHJJK fails!
The film picks up post-interval and sort of makes up for the lack of enthusiasm of the first half! The second half is emotionally engaging and better directed than the first!
But the point is that a film is seen in in its enterity and not just in parts! I wish Ashutosh had paid equal attention to the first half of the film too!
Another one of the flaws in my pov is that the film tries to be very true to Manini Chatterjee's book which is the original source material for the script! And that is perhaps one of the reason's for the film's downfall! The book was not a best-seller, it is more or less a historical account of the Chittagong Revoultion...very academic and factual!
A bollywood film can afford to take huge creative licence and be as ficitional as possible and get away with it....what it cannot afford is getting its facts right but not being entertaining enough to present those facts! And KJJS is just that!
Overall, I did not regret watching the movie...I did not sleep through it....and I did not take loo breaks or run outside the theatre for popcorn! And that in my scheme of things is a good enough film for me to watch!
I would recommend it to all the people who like a good story with little emblishments and care more about actors than stars when they go to watch a film!
That is not saying that people who watch films like Dabang or TMK are intellectually inferior...Munni & Sheila have their own charms and Indian history has its own!😆

Whats the need for all these comparisons between Deepika and Sonam???

Can some fans just please GET OVER IT. It's so immature.
Post your reviews and move on.
Next person to go off topic or mention Sonam or the number of flops either actress has will get a direct warning level raise.
