Ranbir to put on flab for Barfee

Imagine the lean, chiselled Ranbir Kapoor all bloated up one day.

What a sight he'd make, right? Brace yourselves girls, the actor plans to fatten up for his comic role in Anurag Basu's silent comedy Barfee, earlier titled Silence.

Ranbir's character has been modelled on Charlie Chaplin, whose silent movies will serve as a reference point Basu's film, as well as Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean.

Says a source, "Basu is a big fan of Chaplin's. But Mr Bean is Ranbir's idea. He feels the younger generation needed a far more immediate and ready reference point than Chaplin and Basu too jumped at the idea."

And for the role, Ranbir wants to look "loose-limbed and flabby" and the food overdose is to start come January.

Says a source close to Ranbir, "For a month until the shooting starts in February, Ranbir will binge on fatty food." Wonder how Katz will deal with the love-handles...

silent comedy? I thought this was a serious drama. thats news to me! lol and Barfee? I hope thats not the final title!

Ya that's what I thought... Why would anyone name their film Barfee (Ice) ?!😆

Anyways hopefully it's better than AA.

Barfee does not mean 'Ice', it is the hindi word for a milk based sweet!!! Ice is called, 'Barf' in hindi!

That explains why Ranbir has to put on weight for the role! His character probably loves eating Barfees!😆 (And they do punch in a lot of calories!)

Ooooh! I read that too fast, i thought it said barf

Yup I know what barfee is lol for some reason I thought it said barf but i still typed barfee in my answer :S Haha sorry

So his character is deaf and dumb and loves to eat barfee..interesting lol
