Is Aamir a star only because we're too dumb? - Page 2

Aamir is one of the most manipulative marketers in bollywood. He somehow manages to empower the masses and make them believe that by watching his movies they make a difference and they chose something qualitative. He makes average bhartiya nagric feel intelligent and smart. Does he churn out the best product in the country.. no.. can no one beat him in content no.. altho it is subjective.. but there are others who make good cinema also.. but there's gets lost somewhere.. those people really need to take a cue from this guy.. and i liked raja sen's perspective on this thing..no one should get away with dissing the audience.. even if it is aamir khan.

I do not think Aamir is dissing the audience...he is just a little apprehensive whether the indian audience would like the film! The Indian audience usually love escapism cinema, like golmaal 3, 3 idiots and dabangg. dhobi ghatt is totallly diffrent from that sort of cinema. I for tht matter did not watch peepli in the theatre, since I felt i would be bored. Im sure many share the same mindset. On the whole all he is trying to say is Dhobi ghaat may appeal only to certain sections of audience!!

typical snobbish behaviour from aamir khan. he has always been like that.conceited and manipulative.meh.you can consider me dumb if you want but i wont waste my money watching the film.

As i feel Aamir is right he want to tell people this film not for those who like G3,Dabang,I hate love story,Akshay kumar's movies and APKGK they not like this movie where no songs and comedy so this film for those who like hubly bubbly films theres not out off india shooting no color full dresses so defnetly its very unique low cost film.

I get that it is a different film .... but that comment was damn condescending. He does have that i-am-holier-than-thou attitude. And thats why i have started disliking him now. He pulls down his nose at the very people who are responsible for making him a star- the aam janta.

He has somehow acquired an 'intelligent' actor tag who does 'meaningful' cinema. Yet he has just a few films that could be named so. And every actor who has been around for 10+ years can boast of the same ...... So what is the big deal ?

what Aamir says can be interpreted as vain- But hell I dont want Raja Sen telling me that.

Although I love Sen's style of writing, his content is inconsistent, judgemental and hypocritical.

Sen has for so many times criticised Indian audience lacking intelligence and sensitivity in so many of his reviews and blogs and now he is pretending to be the person championing the cause of intelligent audience? I find his writing psuedo-intelligent.

What kind of movies does Mr Sen appreciate- well written, well enacted, good story, what exactly is he looking for?

I swear after reading for reviews for now 3-4 years I cant figure it out. in fact most of the times when he thrashes the movie I end up liking it and vice versa.
