Yeah I agree Kareena is not consistent but a lot of actress in the industry are not consistent including kajol, priyanka, Konkena, Vidya and many others. These actress are not perfect, but its okay as long as they have the talent.

dharmendra and rishi kapoor are two names that come to my mind instantly... they never won any awards... i don't think awards should be a yardstick for measuring talent...

in any case... to each his/her own... :)

just because most people love to criticize katrina and her acting skills, that does not mean she can't act...!

she has limited acting skills but thats not my point. i like kat, I am one of those people who watches her movies but I'm not besotted by her. the overzealous fans makes me dislike her. I agree that kat is criticised alot and its ok if fans want to defend her but what I hate is when the fans start to force us to like her or shove their opinions down our throat, thats what makes me pick out her flaws and point it out.

i wasn't really pointing at anyone in particular...

there are fans of my favourite who make me so embarassed to be associated with that particular celeb, lol... would you start disliking your favourite celeb just because they have a few fans who are shoving down their opinions on others...? i wouldn't... so i don't do that in case of others celebs either... but everyone has their own opinion...

in many instances, i find people using these things as an excuse to guise their own dislike of a particular celeb... not pointing at anyone here, but it's just a general observation... :) it's not like there aren't any 'humble' fans... why don't people start liking a celeb because they have 'good' fans... anyways...

best thing to do is to ignore such posts... all it leads to is pointless debates... :)

But kat doesn't fit in this category because she is popular and has a lot of fans as Kareena and Priyanka, but she basically doesn't get awards because she is not award worthy so far in her performance. And she is no new comer. So we can't say she is still new. She is not talented enough to deserve an award yet!


And PS if a lot of people love to criticize Kat's acting on this forum they have the right to do since this is a discussion forum and everyone has the right to have an opinion and have a discussion without getting overboard, which we are not doing right now. We are just discussing. And if a lot of people say Kat can't act on this forum it doesn't mean she can't act like someone said previous page....I beg to differ because if the majority say she can't act ..............than she can't act. There is no reason for people to criticize her if they thought she was a good actress they obviously think she can't act and they are expressing their opinion.

The point you were trying to make is that award shouldn't measure people's talent. The majority of people who win are talented and deserve the award. Kat didn't win an award yet and because she doesn't deserve it yet. I don't get how that proves your point. You mentioned Danmandara and Rishi who are waaaay talented than Katrina. By the way Danmandara and Rishi did won many awards by the way especially filmfare awards.

you have your own views, and you are entitled to your own views... we all perceive things differently... :)

as of now, the whole debate is quite pointless... because just as beauty is in the eye of beholder, opinions on who deserves to win an award or not win an award also differ from person to person... hence, whoever doesn't win an award doesn't automatically mean they are not worthy of winning one...!

lmao... i was merely giving an example... not comparing... i am not really aware of the awards they won... i remember rishi's speech where he said he never won an award earlier... only a debut award, and then i think the life time achievement award... or maybe it was shashi kapoor... i don't recall right now...!!

Internet fan-wars, ubiquitous awards, magazine photo-shoots. all amount to nothing if at the end of the end the paying public do not shell out hard-earned money to see your movie at the theater. Shabana was a far greater actress than Hema Malini but whose name is more synonymous to Bollywood's appeal and lure? The fact is incontestable that people like to see Katrina's movies.. much much more than any other heroine's movies. If De Dana Dan was average, at least she didn't give a Tashan.
I think everyone agrees that Kat is very poor in acting but the audience (who is the final arbiter in all matters relating to a commercial industry like Bollywood) finds her irresistible. So, maybe some people should just take a step back and think of why, in this industry filled with talented actresses, beautiful models and famous starkids, A foreign-born, wooden actress like her is ruling the roost.
