Is Priyanka overrated? - Page 6

I disagree.

She's not at all overrated.

Um. So going through all the pages, I've come to the realization that over hype also leads to over criticism. PC is getting more flak here than she deserves. So, I guess it is all balanced out. 😃

I agree, I am not sure how she is qualified as eloquent after comments like sabse desi or something for Katrina and something really silly supporting SRK during the airport detention hoopla. But having said that I dont think any of our top actresses are eloquent - she is just the same as the others - fits in very well with that crowd actually.I liked her earlier(still like her when she does roles like Sweety) but these days she comes across as a bare all dare all bobble head bimbette. I tend to agree with the majority here. I watched Fashion, (as if after all those buzz about Priyanka Chopra I could remain ignorant about this 'critically' acclaimed work of art), and I was pleasantly surprised with not only the performances, but also the film. I liked Chandini Bar, and even Page 3, and compared with those films, Fashion falls steps behind. Kangana was good, but there is just something about her lack of versatility or repeated performances of a depressed lunatic that leaves me cold. As for Priyanka - I felt she was more or less like her self in Aitraaz. She was good, but nothing exceptional.

And as some others mentioned - on a career of seven whole years, only three good performances is nothing extraordinary. Look at Viday -on her career of only five years, she had given Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Guru, Eklavya, Bhool Bhulaiya, Paa and Ishqiya. She had also been nominated in the best actress category higher times than Priyanka. Yet, I rarely hear any buzz about her.

Another thing - I don't know why people take the term "overrated" so negatively. Even "great" actresses like Kajol, Rani, Madhuri, etc are overrated to some extent.

She is not the only one......though i do agree winning a national award does not make u the best actor......lot of background goes into it......to decide on a particular person !!!

Exactly. Srk is news, but i don't think he's in the news 24/7. If news about his movies, concerts, hosting and as a father in hype then Okay. otherwise he is living his life to the fullest. I also don't understand how Media is overrated if concerning the media. And i will stick to my statement she isn't popular oh her link up. Akki Priyanka died as soon akki refused all of his movies with her. If you tell some people they say wow did they really had an affair? With Harman, he admits to it it was his fault and we all know how madly she was in love with. on date with dostana she indirectly admits to it my bf thinks i am looking FAB in the Golden Swim suit. With Shahid, WE ALL KNEW it was for movie Kaaminey. But she isn't going to be remembered as person who was linked up.

She's a social person and her fan following shows from the twitter. From the post it say did she really deserved to win National Award, so that's why i thought BEING Overrated pointing to her work. When she won all of her award to Fashion, then why is it a surprise winning National Award?

I don't give much importance to National Award anymore. Since Saif won for Hum Tum, So priyanka winning for National Award ISN'T a Big Deal.

um i think majority has ruled here, it seems to me that she is overrated to most..
