I thank God that Preity was ultimately chosen for that role. Even though VZ ain't my favorite movie, I can't even imagine seeing Ash on her place. I mean, even Kareena Kapoor would have done a better job than what Ash would - as far as I can stretch my imgaination. 😆

Preity was the best for that role. and no one could make that role more alive than her C:
hard to imagine Ash & Bebo in her place.. that wouldn't look good s;

So I am not one of those people who is completely enamored by Kajol. If I had to pick between the two I'd say Preity based on Dil Se, Kal Ho Na Ho, Lakshya, even Dil Chahta Hai...but most importantly The Last Lear. Haven't seen Heaven on Earth though.

I think Kareena, Rani are more versatile than her. But Kajol not so much.

That's precisely what I am saying. Except that givena second choice, I would go for Bebo - maybe even Kajol (though she does not look Pakistani) than Ash.

Geet agree about the non versatility of Kajol -- but she can deliver more powerful performances than Preity most of the times...

i really like prety zinta as an actress. but i agree she doesn't have that one movie that would belong soly to her like other actresses. i hope she impresses everyone big time soon. i loved her in VZ and kya khena

Its not that I don't think Kajol is a good actor. But there is something about the repetitive boisterous performances that leaves me cold. Same with Kangana who I liked initially but now I am tired of the woman in free fall act. Plus I do think Preity in Dil Se and The Last Lear outshine Kajol in her best which might be Dushman I think. I also liked her in U Me aur Hum. MNIK I still haven't seen so don't know about that. Perhaps if you picked individual scenes Kajol would have more powerful moments on screen. But in terms of overall characters I think I'd still go with Preity.

I so understand what you mean about Kajol & Kangna -- the repetition doesn't do good -- I mean stereotyping your acting is quite repulsive for some of their fans...And yes I liked Preity in Dil se - haven't watched The Last Lear or Dushman (Kajol) - so can't tell.....
