According to reports, she will play the role of Phaedra opposite The Tudors star HENRY CAVILL in the Greek myth epic(god of war), which may be released in 3D.

The actress has been in demand since she shot to fame in the Oscar-winning DANNY BOYLE flick and is now working on the new WOODY ALLEN feature, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

I THINK THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A SOUTH ASIAN WOMEN HAS BEEN CAST IN A LEAD ROLE TAT TOO PLAYING A WOMEN OF DIFFERENT ETHNICITY (PINTO PLAYS GREEK WOMEN) IN A BIG BUDGET FILM($85 MILLION) LIKE THIS IN HOLLYWOOD....WHY DOES ASH NEVER GOT A BIG BREAK LIKE FREIDA IN HOLLYWOOD???..IS IT BECAUSE SHE IS TOO CONSERVATIVE???...I personally feel ash is a better actress than freida...but she has always been
criticized by hollywood critics as talentless...but freida on the other hand has got prestigious bafta
nomination for her performance and even the biggest film critic like Roger ebert called her one of
5 most main reason for slumdog success (he didnt include dev and rahman in his list)....SO I WOULD REALLY TO KNOW UR OPINION AS TO WHY OTHER SOUTH ASIAN STARS ARE NOT GETTING LEADING ROLE IN BIG BUDGET HOLLYWOOD FILMS?...AND MANY OF MY WHITE FRIENDS HAVE TOLD ME TAT FREIDA DOESN'T LOOK LIKE INDIAN..DO U AGREE WITH TAT AND DOES SHE LOOKS LIKE GREEK WOMEN?

see i m happy the frieda is getting so many good roles...but the topic is quite misleading that says she has dethroned ash.... its quite unfair to ash that her career of over 15 yrs is being compared to a newcomer, and also it unfair to frieda coz she has her own career and long way to go

thx for the reply zareena...im too very happy for freida...i think ash comes across as quiet arrogant in interviews...but i think freida popularity in the west is more do with the fact she looks more western and could easily pass off as hispanic or brazilian while ash looks very much indian.

^I know where u coming from. I don't know why ash has an accent but i think she's a sweet person. Freida has acheived SO much in little time. Got ads, movies in Hollywood is no small thing but sorry to say frieda photoshoot were quiet shocker.
