Sonam Kapoor sits pretty
But the real attraction was clearly to see the very lovely Sonam Kapoor. MyBangalore caught up with the her on the sidelines of the event. When we asked her on what brought her to the city, the answer had to be short and simple: "I love diamonds, and I think it's a thing of beauty that every girl would look forward to. I am here to promote the whole event," said Sonam.
Having got movies like Saawariya and Delhi on her platter already, this 2008 Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow is excited about the new year, 2010. We, at mybangaore.com, decided to have a quick tete a tete with Kapoor about her future plans and her upcoming projects. Extracts from the interview:
MyBangalore: How are you looking at the New Year? Tell us about the movies that you are presently working on.
Sonam Kapoor: Well, the year, so far, has been great, and I am looking forward to the coming days too. I am sure it will be equally exciting. Presently, I am working on two movies: Aisha, and I hate Love Storys. But, it's too early to speak anything about the movie. But I am enjoying every part of the shoot.
And Imran Khan' How is he to work with?
Sonam Kapoor:It has been great fun working with him. I think he is extremely gorgeous. It's indeed great to be working with people like him. In fact, I have enjoyed working with my whole crew of I Hate Love Storys; it is the same with Aisha.
Does your movie, I Hate Love Storys, reflect a bit of you? How much do you believe in love stories?
Sonam Kapoor: I am an extremely emotional person when it comes to my personal life. But yes, as a person, I do believe in love stories. I truly believe that every one of us should be faithful. So far as I am concern, I am candid and outspoken. I don't like to keep things suppressed, which is why it has put me in some troubles, especially with the journalists (laughs).
We hear your inclination towards tattoos. How addicted are you with tattoos?
Sonam Kapoor:Not really. But I like tattoos, and I have got one. I have got a tattoo done in my body that symbolizes fortune. I think I am really fortunate in a lot of ways, which is why I decided on that particular tattoo. But I haven't planned anything else on that part, at least not for now.
Tell us about your Bollywood voyage. How has been the industry treating you so far?
Sonam Kapoor: The journey has been great. There are a lot of good things that has come my way. I think the roles that I have been offered so far have been mostly the acting roles. It's really great to get such movies, for it helps to show the real acting talents, which I look forward to from the movies that I get.
What do you think about Bangalore?
Sonam Kapoor: I think it's a lovely place. I love the weather, something that makes this place really different from the others. I love the food too; people are equally great. But, I am just too new to the city to comment a lot about it. I haven't come here a lot of times. But I look forward to coming here more. I love this city.
