Sometime back, Abbas-Mastaan had expressed their intentions of doing the remake of the popular Hollywood movie 'The Italian Job'. The rumor mills churned out that the flick would star Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor together, along with Neil Mukesh and Katrina Kaif.
Now, the news is back in circulation again with some changes which include that the remake would not star Kareena and will also have Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Khanna and Kunal Kapoor. The script has been penned down by Rohit Jugraj with a lot of changes from the original one. However, the producers and Abbas-Mastaan have already bought the remake rights.
"For one, the stakes for the heist are much higher. The situations, fights and adventures are all different - and so are the characters," said Jugraj. Revealing about the casting, the duo stated that they have not yet locked in the entire cast, but are indeed in talks to rope in the above mentioned stars. "It's a very big project and we need to get the biggest names in place before we start," said the filmmakers.
