Do you think 3 idiots would have the same magic if Aamir Khan was not in the movie?

Do you think 3 idiots would have created BO History if Aamir Khan was not in the movie?

I agree 110% that every actor in that movie did a great job but i noticed that Aamir got the last cake and it is even called Aamir's film. No doubts on how talented Raju is but still it is called Aamir's film.

I disagree. You cannot say 3I was good because of Aamir. You have to give the credit to the script, direction, production house. Would movie be the same if you put different actor instead of maddy and Sharman? Or put some other actress and not bebo? This isn't Hirani first success hit. Munnabhai was super hit and Lage raho Munna bhai was Mega success. Hirani is brilliant director, After watching Lage raho..i realized this guy could never go wrong.

when aamir does a film...he takes the responsibility to take it to different levels...

he is not the same aamir khan we saw in lousy films like mann and mela or akele hum akele tum, in which he just sat down before the release. now he takes every sec for the movie to be as big as it can. professionally tht person is brilliant...cant express...if any director has to take aamir he has to know tht at the end of the day..its aamir and only aamir...

OF COURSE AAmir was the JAAN of the film,..and nobody i mean nobody can play the role of rancho better than aamir khan. it was made for him.

I can't imagine anyone doing this role..even the current populars SHAHID AND RANBIR can't do justice to it..ot even the SUPERSTAR shahrkh khan, LOL cant imagine him as rancho at all .its aamir only.

3 Idiots is a big success because of the whole creative team.

But do you think it is a super duper success because of Aamir?

If you remember Munna bhai series was a success (and got all the awards too) but not path breaking success.

Wonderful topic. Let me jot down what I think. I have not written any reviews for this movie yet.

I watched 3 Idiots and I really loved the movie, though some of the toilet humour put me off. So, I would definitely take marks off for that. Also, the message was conveyed in the same manner as it was conveyed in Koi Mil Gaya (just using an example here 😛), that is by trying to cash in on people's emotions. Bit over the top and I hope the message does not get lost in the translation.

Overall, everyone performed well, HOWEVER, if it were not an Aamir movie, I doubt the movie would have even touched the superhit status. I don't think it would have reached any higher than a simple 'hit', in all honestly. It's only Aamir's magic that the movie has done so well. Raju Hirani is a wonderful director but truth is that if Aamir was not in the movie, it would not have achieved the cult status it did.

Actually, I have enjoyed other movies much more than 3 Idiots this year, but I did love 3 Idiots (more so ONLY because of Aamir, and that's the absolute truth).

So, nothing wrong with calling it an Aamir movie. He's the one who is responsible for making the movie an ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER. 😛

By the way, I am not an Aamir fan just so everyone knows. I really do like the guy though, he's a brilliant actor, no two ways about it.

It seemed that Raancho was written for Aamir Khan only. Playing 22 years old is not a piece of cake and Aamir khan did that brilliantly, but what if somebody else had played that role? Would it be that super success?

when aamir takes something u should realize that he is going to perform something very strong..when he takes it..he goes into the role so much tht u wonder tht anybody could do better than that...

about the success...see its upto the movie..like aamir was with sharman and maddy, and they were in RDB too...so the time created history again...😛😊😃

I would have watched the film anyways because I like Hirani's hilarious and little poignant style films.

Aamir Khan is a good actor, no arguments on that but I felt Sharman Joshi and Omi Vaidya got into the skin of the character more than anyone in the film. Even Kareena in her brief role was at par with Aamir.

Even if Aamir was not in the movie the movie would have been a hit- may be not a blockbuster. Hirani is a renowned filmmaker & makes really likeable movies that audience love to watch.

But Aamir's involvement in the marketing & promotional aspects has helped the movie reach every nook & corner of the country. I know of so many of my friends who have not watched either of the munnabhai series, watching 3 idiots just for Aamir Khan.

Aamir khan over the last 5 years has built a lot of credibilitry as a good actor who gives audience value for their money. He markets his films for what they are. So you cant overlook Aamir's involvement in 3 Idiots becoming the highest grossing Indian movie ever.
