Lets talk about different kinds of forums on the internet related to Bollywood..

on one hand we have general discussion forums like this one where we talk about anyone and anything and then forums dedicated to certain stars...

How does discussion differs in these forums? also will one person who is a member of both, talk differently in these forums?

How's your experience been like? Lets talk about the crazyness you have encountered in different forums on the internet..

Lets discuss

I have been a member of an actress forum and here. I don't count the Deepika one because it is very inactive; we don't post there much anymore.

It was an interesting experience to say the least; the way people work is fascinating. I think I am not going to elaborate, but look forward to reading other people's. LOL.

P.S. Nice topic, as usual!

Another entertaining topic by you PP.

OK, so I have been on India - Forums from this January (I have no life), and have encountered that few fans on here do not care and bash extensively to maintain a position on their favorite actors. Of course they are banned unfortunately, but that's a different story. Now we have some members on India - Forums who are extremely sly and passively aggressive, if that makes any sense. They have their favorites in the back of their minds and thus, their motive is to promote their stars among the masses on India - Forums. What they do is that they appear to be cyber - friendly, since IF is greatly influenced by social networking sites, so they want to create a certain 'friendly' persona and be liked. Rejection even on IF is very daunting. In conclusion, they end up being pacifists (but not really) since they actually wage a war while being passive, but do not show their wrath since after all they do not want to be banned and of course they want the halo - like image to be maintained.

But lets just say that the same fan is also part of Kareena website, or Shahid website, or Katrina website, then the beast within them is set lose as they have nothing to be afraid of. They are among their own breed of fans and have no fear of rejection as I am assuming majority of Kareena fans want to rip off Shahid's head and vice versa.

In the end, general Bollywood fans compared to dedicated forum fans differ greatly, and it's as if they are almost two varied people.

Note: This post may not make much sense since my thoughts are still very scattered.

LOL!!!!!!!!

I have heard stories of certain users here being some sort of an IF's answer to e-Gandhi spreading love all over the forum, throwing some fairy dust and being all sweet...then doing a 360 degree turn on the fan forum and unleashing all the bottled up rage and anger there...

and speaking of general bolly forums, India FM is quite something... lets say if Bollywood forums were prisons then its the maximum security prison.. i went there a while ago for 5 mins and ended up spending 3 hours cleaning my contact lens for the smut and filth I read...

That's what astonished me too. I have also seen certain usernames make quite a spin when they are surrounded with their own breed of fans. Seriously, can there be a halt to such deceit nature? I am sure there is a medical terminology for folks who have double personalities on the cyber world. But then again, IF also contains 'great' moderators, and it's quite tuff to show off true colors when surrounded with such greatness without getting banned or a slap across the user ID with a 20%.

However, PP, you won't believe it, I have also seen folks on our very own IF spread love and have a carefree attitude while promoting their favorite stars, but in reality they have so much vengeance for the competition of their stars.

I think I may venture into a Kareena or Shahid forum just to witness it myself.

HAH, India FM...never heard of it, but the way you describe it is enough to give me the shudders.

oh and srk fans forums are weird... i go there every now and again when

- a movie not starring srk is a huge hit
- srk's movie doesn't go well
- srk gets involved in some controversy

the posts there are so entertaining..they even have all these e-get together before a big movie releases (that doesn't star srk) to collectively pray that it isn't a hit...

the way they bash aamir/big B/Akshay/Salman/Hrithik is hilarious..and i just assumed that they were young teens or kids but i went to "post srk fans' pictures thread" and man the users who indulge in name calling and some immature bashing were like middle aged and like your average auntyjis... if someone defends or says anything nice about one of the aforementioned actors, that means they are "bashing srk" and get responses like "you go to aamir's forum, what u doing here???" and might even get banned

i bet my local desi store lady is a member there...she once got so offended when i said i don't like srk movies.. i thought she'd yell at me, grab the Mango Mazaa from my hand and go "LEAVE THE JOINT NOWWWWWWWWWW YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE"

I went to the Shahid forum when Kaminey was releasing. I didn't do any digging up and just looked into the Kaminey topic and couple of other ones and they seemed like fans are on here.. crazy about their faves. :P They are kind of like Deepika fans. 😆

I'm not sure why fans hate their favorite's competition?

I guess it's because they feel like they are failing.. and they are being beaten or something. 😕

I have only been on two fan forums - Deepika and Ranbir. I joined Priyanka's but was never active there. And I haven't been to Ranbir's forum in months.

Deepika fans are pretty much the same here as they are on Deepika fan forum. Maybe If we wanted to vent that forum would be more active. 😆 But instead we do most of the discussion on IF.

I don't know very many people who are members on IF and on RKF. But there are a few and a couple among them bashed Deepika on RKF, but claimed they liked her on IF. So that was interesting. I don't know whether any of these people are active there now because I haven't been to his site in a while.

Nice topic!

I made the mistake of joining IF, and since then I haven't joined any other forum on the net. I spend a lot more time than I should be on here, so I have been avoiding every other forum on the net. I really don't want another addition to aid my procrastination.

This section of IF is quite sane, but there are forums on here with really bizarre folks. That is all I have to say.
