Sush becoming a rock-star

Director Tanuja Chandra's next venture, ROCKING will see Sushmita Sen playing the role of a rock-singer.Shiny Ahuja has been signed as the lead actor.

The film is an emotional love story, which will portray Sushmita in a role that she has never essayed before. "The role has all the flamboyance and exuberance that is characteristic of Sushmita's persona but there is a lot of drama and intensity in it. It will give her a new high in acting," Chandra reveals.

The film will be shot in a six-month spell from February 2006, with the climax to be shot in London. Music-director Anu Malik has recorded a unique score for the film to go with its musical content.

Meanwhile, Chandra denies that she has abandoned the idea of going ahead with RUNWAY, the project that she had earlier planned with Sushmita Sen. "There is no question of giving up that subject. It is very close to my heart. I am just waiting for a suitable period to start the film since it involves shooting in the rugged terrains of Kutch," she says.

The end of this year will see the release of Chandra's first English venture 'Hope And A Little Sugar' starring Mahima Chaudhary, Amit Sayal, Anupam Kher, Suhasini Mulay and Vikram Chatwal - a love story set against the backdrop of September 9/11 that rocked America.
