Amitabh Bachchan honoured with GQ award
The actor was among the 16 personalities from different fields of life, who were conferred upon the awards.
''Rewards and awards are great tools for celebration of excellence in the eyes of the other. In our eyes, though we know our true worth and what needs to be done to be worthy of the recognition that comes our way'', the actor said.
Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor was honoured with ''The Inspiration of the year award'', while Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah received the award in the Young leader category and Dr Rajendra Pachauri bagged the Global Indian of the year award.
Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi was given the best sportsperson award.
Other award winners included film personalities Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol and Irfan Khan.
The winners will be featured in the magazine's October 1 issue.
