Shahids PR working into overdrive

Shahid says (indirectly), I'm a top-fiver

It's an undisputed fact. The top 5 actors ruling the film industry are - Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

But actor Shahid Kapoor's publicist has sent out an email to the entire media which proclaims, "Shahid Kapoor breaks into the top 5 bracket." So the big question, is: which of the aforementioned actors does the actor believe he has displaced.

The arrival
The press release by Shahid's PR machinery says, 'The actor who not too long ago spoke about how much he admired his seniors is now being hailed as one of them, at the age of just 28!' Another release from Kapoor's enthusiastic PR girl says: 'The newly tagged superstar of Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor has arrived.'

In the same email it has been expressed that, "Shahid is rather shy about the 'superstar' tag that he has been given since Kaminey's success" Given by WHOM? would be a good question. While there are no doubts that Shasha is a fabulous actor and a star in his own right, this is the first time in the history of Hindi cinema that an actor (through his publicist) has declared himself a superstar.

Shahid's performance in Kaminey may have got him rave reviews but self-proclamation makes the actor appear desperate. Shahid is definitely in the top ten male actors in the country. He is in the esteemed company of Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan. If's that's acceptable to Kapoor.

Did he really say that- I really doubt it.

If he did say it- he needs to get over himself. He has just started to deliver hits & has a long way to go before he can call himself a Superstar. These Bollywood actors & their inflated sense of self-importance.👎🏼

haha if he/his PR said that then i think they're implying Akshay Kumar, Shahid was on some interview type show with Farah Khan over the weekend (btw how loud and obnoxious is that woman argh my ear drums) and when asked about success in Bollywood he said "there are some actors who are considered to be on top and are getting movie roles only because they've had hit movies and then there are some who get movie offers cuz they got talent and filmmakers have belief in their talent" or something to that affect.. i so think that's a dig on A.K. or someone else?

he seems really sly when making digs at other actors.. and makes you wonder if he thinks a bit too highly of himself (probably developed that trait when he was with his ex girlfriend).. i could only imagine their conversation when they were together praising each other to the skies and dissing everyone else... but apart from that he seems aight and harmless...

Firstly, what is the source of the article? Secondly, the article doesnt even look professionally written.

From his interviews he does not seem like a guy who would do this.

Also, all these top-five ranking is for those who are in the top at the moment I think. If that is the case, with hits I dont see why Shahid cant be in the top five league.

Even Hrithik cant be considered a big star you know, he has only given 2 more hits than Shahid and much lesser than the Khans and Kumar. What about all the other actors who had much more hits than all the khans. This is why I think the top-five ranking is really for stars who give hits at the moment.

there was even a bit of a dig at Abhishek on TMBM- about how star kids get to make at least 8 'mistakes' ie flop films while unknowns have a two strike rule...I think that previously mwntioned dig was indeed at akshay re ' getting films because he's a superstar not because he's talented'

There's really no need to bring in Kareena into this.She is not even mentioned in the article.😕

Top 5 actors are rated for their recent past performances. And if you go by that then Salman did not have a hit in last 3 years....what is he doing on the list....Hritik did so many flops and then few hits. Shahid has not even done so many films so check his hits as a ratio to his flops.
