Cop the shot!

Narula is tremendously charged about Akshay's look — he plays Captain Mac in the film.

"Akshay has a very laid-back, young and contemporary look. His look epitomises what a typical photographer would wear — sneakers, T-shirts, sunglasses and photography jackets. As for the jackets. In some scenes, I gave him yellow and orange, which he has seldom worn before. Plus I think he stands out in scenes where he wears a wine-red shirt."

But how did it happen? Isn't it the first time that he has designed Akshay's look in a film? "Yes. I have done his look for photo-shoots, but film mein pehla avsar hai. In fact, Akshay himself called me. Then I met him with Priyadarshan (director), first in Delhi. I also met producer Ratan Jain."

Did Akshay have a difference of opinion in what all he brought for him? "Not at all. In fact, I brought the entire stuff just two days prior to the first schedule in Mumbai. They all loved it."

Lounge look

Narula says he has has attempted to introduce a resort wear feel to Akshay's wardrobe. "The resort wear for Akshay has a very clean, sophisticated feel, almost like one would dress in the Hamptons in New York, as opposed to a grunge, hippy Goa look.

Here, Akshay will be seen in lots of T-shirts, white textured shirts, capris, white drawstring pants, white-on-white. Even in the famous beachwear sequence, he is wearing linens, white and pastels. I have also given him some interesting belts."

"There are a lot of beach scenes and songs, where I wanted him to not look too flashy, with floral shorts, as the norm is. I wanted him to stand out against that coloured backdrop, so I asked him to wear white," he adds.
Captain Lothario?

Captain Mac is a fashion photographer romancing three airhostesses — Deepti, Sweety, Puja (Daisy, Neetu, Nargis). He is obsessed with clicking women in the movie. John Abraham plays Captain Sam. The two hunks sweet-talk their way through the stormiest situations and the wildest of airhostesses.
