Its just not Muslims even Hindu & most Asians who have to go through special searches. I'm a hindu, I have had to go through it a couple of times. And seriously I dont care- bcoz we Asians have not done any favours to ourselves trying to blow up US & UK.

These countries are trying to protect themselves & that includes common people like me. I was in London during the July bombings in 2005 and only people who have been through such attacks will understand the importance of these security measures.

SRK & his chanchas can go live in their own LALA land where everyone worships him everyday & there are no laws or regulations for celebrities.

Didnt he once say in an interview that he never expects any special treatment? what happened to those principles SRK?

And for some one who keeps saying that he does not like to bring in religion during terrorist attavk why is he playing the religion card this time- Is it for MNIK?

Dear, what are you coming at? Do you know how obnoxious it sounds? Are you trying to say that one cannot be detained merely because of the custom one creates via repetitive travel. I will explain in a way to suit your understanding - take for instance this situation which would be created if one succumbs to your view- if a person travels to USA for say 200 times implies that a custom is creating and so at the 201st travel no security checks should be conducted because Zareena implies that if one travels regularly means trust is built. Now if that person is let go without checks and then later pertains to some act which causes some acts of terror and causes widespread grief then I bet people like you would be the very first to say that the world's superpower failed to protect it's citizens.

I am not talking about SRK in particular here - I took your view and gave it a generalised perspective beacuse objectivity matters. We don't make separate rules or laws for more popular people and commons.

Ha, the moment I saw this on the "Breaking News" in the morning, that this would be bigger news than anything else in the country.

Like the many people before me, I'd like to stress that the safety and security of my family and country means more to me than the ego of some movie star. The security agents were just doing their job. Yes, it's extremely unfortunate and unfair that people are being targeted for the faith they follow, and in no way do I condone it, but I'd rather the security personnel take their own required time to keep the country safe. Granted, SRK may not be a threat to the nation's security, but if this was someone who ultimately was involved in some criminal activities, the blame would be put on the DHS, saying that they were negligent. So damned if you do, damned if you don't?

I'd like quote a part of the blog from TOI that raised a very valid point that is often ignored:
SRK says he's ''upset and angry'' because it was his Muslim name that caused all this. Thousands of Muslims are made to go through extra security checks everyday in America and a host of Western countries. Is he equally upset at that? He's probably just pissed that it happened to him, India's mega star. We all know how a lot of Muslims have been subjected to prejudice around the world because many countries see terrorism as an Islamic phenomenon. Yes, it is uncalled for, unjust and maybe wrong. But America is a country that takes the killings of its people with the seriousness it deserves, unlike India whose record on this is shameful, to say the least.
To all the Indians rioting and burning effigies of Obama, I'd like to ask them, where all this passion was when it comes to the few hundreds of their own countrymen that were killed and injured on 26/11, and there was such widespread destruction to public and private property?? No rioting or questioning into THAT incident, which highlighted a serious lapse in security, other than for a few hours after it. And 26/11 is not the only incident. There have been numerous attacks on India, such as on the Parliament, the Delhi blasts in 2005, Mumbai train attacks, the Malegaon attacks, numerous attacks in the north-eastern parts.... After all these incidents, people made a lot of noise for a week and then went back to their own lives, blaming the government and the elected officials. Why? Because so what if a few common Indians die, several hundred will be born to replace them within the hour? Because they were just the faceless middle-class, and not famous movie stars like SRK? Please. Look within your own country and demand answers for the injustice being meted out to common people like YOU, rather than for someone like SRK, who has members of the media and his film fraternity to kiss his butt and soothe his fevered brow over the "grave injustices" meted out to him. America takes the security and safety of its citizens very seriously, unlike India does, and looks to act promptly, unlike India which JUST sentenced the suspects of the 2003 Mumbai blasts last month. HONESTLY? 6 YEARS, TO FINALLY COME TO A VERDICT ABOUT AN ATTACK THAT KILLED MORE THAN 50 AND INJURED 250??!!? Instead of chastising American security agencies for doing their job, try to push our own country to implement such stringent security measures to ensure there isn't another terrorist attack killing hundreds of innocent people.

Look, I have nothing against SRK, I'm quite fond of his movies, but does he really think he's above the law, and that too, not of his own country, but others too?
Ultimately, what has SRK really done for the country that the common man is getting so outraged on his behalf? Such concern for a movie star, when absolutely nothing for FORMER PRESIDENT, AND FATHER OF THE COUNTRY'S MISSILE TECHNOLOGY, who has done far more for the country that SRK will ever do in his lifetime. The country is facing far more important issues at this moment, than trying to placate a MOVIE STAR.

Wow , I love your post. 👏 You really nailed everything beautifully.

The main problem basically was that his luggage didn't arrive along with him, so they always have to take the possibility that something may have been planted in that luggage and sent elsewhere deliberately. And when they asked SRK why he was in the U.S. and what he was doing there, he couldn't give them any details like which hotel he was going to stay at, what event he was going to perform at, or who the local organizers were. So naturally they had to establish all that. And when they asked him to give the name of some one in the U.S. who could vouch for him, he gave Fox studios! hspace5 Oh, yeah, right, great strategy. Or maybe it was great, if the idea was to do publicity for his movie. I really am beginning to think now that that's what is behind all this. SRK keeps repeating that stupid phrase, "I got stopped because My Name Is Khan", and completely skipping over all the really relevant points, like I have given above. It only took an hour and a half because they were waiting for his luggage to arrive.

Creating so much fuss over nothing. And all his industry pals foaming at the mouth about how this is a terrible way to treat the great SRK! Give me a break.

@Greenbear: He couldn't/wouldn't give the officials details of his trip? Really? Seriously, who the hell does stuff like that? And then he has a the gall to complain about being held up? Come on, give me a break. It looks totally suspicious, even to a common person, let alone trained security personnel. He was either having a spazz moment where he couldn't remember any details (from the shock of having his precious cell phone taken away?) or being uncooperative on purpose, because he couldn't believe these lowly firangs didn't recognize KING KHAN.

And please, the argument of him being an actor has nothing to do with why he was held up? Just because he's an actor doesn't mean he can't commit any criminal activities! Sanjay Dutt? Salman Khan? Mike Tyson? Winona Ryder? Yes, none of them committed terrorist activities (except Sanjay), but this is the very SRK who is speculated to have links with the underworld (along with the rest of B-wood) because he turned hostile at the last minute in the Bharat Shah case. So seriously, the "he's an actor" argument means squat in this case. The suspct doesn't have to be the one actually strapping something on himself and blowing something up, but he could be easily be involved in the planning, location scouting, etc. Again, if someone who was actually capable of such an act slipped through, fingers will be pointed at the DHS.

The problem with us Indians is that we're always complaining about something or the other, whether things go our way, or not. Have somene attack the country, blow up a few of our countrymen, destroy our property, and we start whining, cribbing and bitching about how we elect a government, and how they do anything to ensure security in the country. Have to spend a few extra minutes @ security, and we start whining about how much unneccessary security there is, "do we look like terrorists???", "they never catch the real terrorists, they target poor people like us", etc. Please. Terrorists do not come in one standard mould like a Barbie, wearing a long flowy robe/vest made of explosives and with a long beard and head-dress, just because that's how Osama Bin Laden looks. Look at Ajmal Kasab. He looks like a mere 16 year old school-going boy. Security procedures are a must to ensure the safety of citizens, no matter how long they take. Suck it up and deal with it if you don't wanna get blown up. :/

He had an assitant travelling with him, he was not alone, some Mr Subhash Jain. Normally he travels with an entourage and they take care of everything.
I think the assistant knew all the details as to which hotel Srk was going to be put up in, the name of the local organzier etc etc, Srk was clueless about these things, thats why they took the time they did to establish all these facts and for the luggage to arrive. These stars are normally not aware of all these details, their assistants take care of all that.
Yes, I agree India needs to be very serious about its security which it is not at the moment. But here people do get hassled with all the extra security checks and then they complain when something happens.
I'll rather be frisked than die while dining at a restaurant or shopping at a mall or travelling by train. I live in Mumbai, so I know how the security works here and its a joke to put it simply.

It sounds very unusal for these star not to know htier hotels and otehr stuff...Aren't they fight for hotel's all the time..I want ot live in that hotel and want to have that suite and want to drive that car...
It is hard to believe that SRK just flew out of the country with out knowing wherehe was headed to and who all invited him or whatever the questions they asked him....

Where did i said rules are different from the king khan shahrukh?? Did i said anywhere like that? NO! Now don't be one of those reporter who just love to twist the words. Rules should apply to each and every single person, be it Celebrity, policition or police officer. I have been saying this from the beginning of my posts in this thread. There never or should have different laws for any one and why should there be? America is doing right by having good security system after 9/11. Nor i am defending any religion because a lot had happened in USA. I don't think Srk is making any big deal, Post the incident he did went to the Independence event and told the audience what happened. What's the big deal if he told the audience.

What's a big deal even if it coming in the news? Maybe for non Srk fans it is. Just take it with pinch of salt. We do know how indian media makes small issue hugely and we people make it a HUGE deal. Media knew this news will be all over the place and this post proved it. There are people who do get detained and never get out but put in jail. I know Srk said he's hurt and embarrassed..Well why should he be happy about it? Even if i get detained for 20 minutes, i will be upset about it and will have millions of questions. Having Security Check and Detained is completely Different. Anyway i aint fanatic or hater of Srk who will scream out loud and defend him, because i know he's fine now. I just had my opinion, just like you had. But i didn't knew my post will bother you so much 😕

it's funny how members here are talking how srk fans and his chamchas but non srk fans are active in this thread and made this topic to 22 pages 👏 Anyway enjoy and making it to 50 + 😉 Anyway I am off to his thread 😃

Just because some people here mentioned that law should apply to every one equally and SRK is not the only one who went through this process makes that person a hater.....what a logic!! This is not a fan or non- fan debate. It's about being objective. Numerous people go through this process everyday and some even in far more outrageous position than SRK.
