After MP3 - MERA PEHLA PEHLA PYAAR, Ruslaan Mumtaz would be seen again on the big screen in Satish Kaushik directed TEREE SANG. In the film, this 24 year old young man plays the role of a 17 year old boyfriend of a 15 year old girl (Sheena Shahabadi) who gets pregnant from him.
The film comes with a message around teen pregnancy and has one of its major promotional pegs being sex education. On the eve of the film's release, Ruslaan Mumtaz talks about how he contributed to the performance of his co-star Sheena Shahabadi. He also recollects a real life incident when a college mate of his had to go through the mental trauma of teen pregnancy.
CHECK OUT: Sheena Shahabadi-Satish Kaushik is an actor's director
''During my college days there was a girl who got pregnant even though she was just a teenager'', says Ruslaan when questioned if he had come across any such instance in real life where a friend of his had gone through a similar situation.
''Luckily she was rich so she could somehow get her way out of the mess that she had found herself in. In case of TEREE SANG though there is this conflict that comes in due to class difference as well. While the girl is rich, I am poor which only makes things further complicated'', he elaborates.
Since Sheena was an absolute newcomer while you had already faced the camera earlier, how did he go about helping her on the sets?
''Well, I contributed a lot to Sheena's dialogues. I got in a lot more English to them so that they go well with today's times'', he reveals, ''See, cinema has changed today and one has to bring in reality to the narrative. Moreover, our subject is also quite tricky so we couldn't be frivolous in our approach at all.''
