Emraan magnifying personal problems: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday criticised film star Emraan Hashmi, who has been denied a residence in a Mumbai colony, and said he was wrong in projecting his personal grievance as that of all Muslims.

"One actor is trying to associate his personal issue with a community. This will aggravate the distrust within society towards the minority community instead of creating sympathy for them," BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He also said that by "blackmailing" society in the name of minority community some people were trying to break the religious harmony of Indian society.

Hashmi Friday accused a Mumbai housing society of refusing him permission to buy a flat because he is Muslim. Several Bollywood personalities have made similar complaints in the past.

oh god this is what i was scared of. look now one political party has given comment now another will give and this will be a big issue. y just bcoz some mean minded people want publicity for their movie. pathetic.

This statement is given by no one else but a muslim himself !! This shows that Hashmi is trying to create trouble for other muslim brothers !! This should be stopped immediate that this does not turn into a riot !! Donot we have enough troubles and important issues in our country to resolve !! Please please get some sense into your brain Hashmi !!

He has come in the eyes of every politician, govt and the police !! These actors forget that the aam janta is the one who can make them or break them as actors !! 😕

Even MNSs Raj Thackarey has spoken about it now. And they are both right.
