Political correctness and some more world peace

Bollywood celebs are the voice of many important causes in and around the country. While some have gone to the very extents of showing their determination in bringing about a change, the others simply don't practice what they preach. StarBoxOffice takes a look at some of the stars who don't practice what they preach.

Amitabh Bachchan

Big B is an institution in himself, the actor is the face of many causes in the country, the most noted being the Polio eradication drive. Recently during the IIFA's for which he is brand ambassador the actor was very vocal about the need to control the emission of toxic gases. So much so the IIFA this year itself had the green carpet and was all for global warming and eco-friendly ways of travel.

But surprisingly, the entire Bachchan family is often seen driving around in their sport utility vans (SUVs). They are often seen driving around in it to work and even to social events. Now Mr. B, the type of moolah you rake, you can surely turn all Nano's into Hybrid, then why the guzzler vans ?

Salman Khan

The resilient Sallu Miyan avoids the public eye as far as possible but during the last elections, the actor went all the way in promoting political parties around the country. The crowds couldn't have enough of the generosity of the actor who made sure to point out the importance of voting.

With all that said, Salman didn't vote himself, the actor was busy shooting for his film in London and gave the elections a miss. When quizzed about his absence, he said, " Many actors left their work and came to vote, but I didn't want publicity." Well, you prancing around town before the elections screaming your lungs out promoting political parties was all in good service, not publicity at all.

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor

Another voting debacle, was made by Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur. The couple or not, had featured in a video promoting the need and importance of voting. The video emphasized on reverse psychology with Priyanka and Shahid saying, "Please don't vote, iss desh ka kuch nahin hoga."

Seems like they took it to heart, like the other 60% of the population who didn't vote. Thanks guys you pack in a mean punch.

Jiah Khan

The dusky actress hasn't really created a firm place for herself in the industry but made sure that her celebrity status helped a cause that needs concern. Jiah was a Peta ambassador against the killings of birds due to Kite flying.

The sharp manja of the kites was responsible in the killing of many birds in the city and while Jiah posed as a bludgeoned bird on the streets of the city speaking of the cause she also ordered in KFC in between shoots. The actress is a mean non vegetarian and Tandoori chicken is her favorite.

Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi's intentions could have been genuine when he participated in providing relief to the victims of the Tsunami that hit Tamil Nadu. Probably carried away by the depth of devastation, Vivek infused hope among the battered villagers. He announced a rehabilitation project costing Rs 10 crore.

However, he just ended up infusing a lot of hope in the villagers and couldn't really meet the demands. The town of Devinampattinam slowly receded from the front-pages to backyards of newsrooms and Vivek quietly retreated back to B-town. Noble we don't know, but Vivek does have a habit of shooting off his mouth, Sallu would agree.

Agree to everything but the vivek one. He did A LOTTTTTT for Devinampattinam and still doing a lot for that place. He is the sole reason many of the villagers have a roof above their heads and have fishing nets for their livelihood. My parents hail from a small town near this village hence we know what goes on around there.
