Katrina Kaif turns producer, is buying the rights of a French film

Katrina Kaif has bid adieu to Sanjay Gadhvi's 7 days in Paris but her connection with Paris is far from over. In fact, Katrina's romance with Paris is about to begin. She recently saw a French film and was so impressed, that she has not only bought the remaking rights of the film, but is also producing it herself. And that's besides starring in it, of course.

However, Katrina refuses to tell us the name of the film that has her so enamoured. "It's a huge hit of 2006", is all we can get out of her. "I don't want to name it because then it will immediately be picked up by others and they'll get down to making their own versions of the film before I have even finalised the deal. I'm very serious about the film and my negotiations are on. And if all goes well, I'll have the rights with me very soon," says an excited Katrina.

This film will see Katrina in a different role from the ones she plays in New York, and the upcoming Rajneeti. "My role in the film has dark shades to it. I play a conniving, ambitious woman. It's a gloriously grey character, the kind I haven't played before," says Katrina.

About producing the film, Katrina says, "It is very important for me to find vehicles that will challenge me as an actor. And I am willing to create opportunities for myself."

While a lot of action awaits the actress, right now she's only hoping to spend a birthday with family in London, later this month. "I need to be happy with what I'm doing. That's all I want on this birthday," she says.

^^She has been working really hard, photoshoots, ads and working non stop. I don't think She needs salman's money. She is in Bollywood from past 3-4 years, so she must had saved money.

If I remember right, she has the most endorsements so she makes a lot of money. She's not using Salman Khan.

i don't think so, most of her successful movies are with Akshay and now John, Neil. Her other movie with salman where she does a cameo hello and meine pyar kiyun kia were average or flop?? Yuvraaj was disaster. So i don't think people going to sign her just because she is his girlfriend. Where She is right now, is of her hard work. She is working with good actors now. I don't even like his pairing with salman. Hope to see her more with Neil and John, She looks so cute with them on and off screen.

No using Salman is not related to money or getting movie roles...

Katrina is a ambitious girl and hard working too. Not many actresses take/use advantage of their success but i am happy she is taking every step very wisely. If salman contact was so helpful, why somy ali wasn't as successful Katrina or his other girlfriends? Just because she is salman's gf, it doesn't mean producers going to give her work. I am not saying katrina has reached far, she still have a long way to go and slowly she is proving that she can act. I won't say strength comes from salman or his family..it can come from her co stars as well. Akshay and Katrina are very very good friends and from what i heard akshay do advice katrina but so does salman. We shouldn't forget, Katrina has always been there for Salman, even when he was in jail. If it was some other actress she would had the great chance to break up. But no she stood there by him and his family.
