Every year IIFA weekend is the fashion extravaganza of the year! Stars get to finally leave their troubles behind and travel to a foreign land to celebrate a weekend of fantastic films and strut their stuff as they do it! Of course the highlight of the weekend is the IIFA Awards main event which honors artists in all aspects of cinema. However, inherent to awards, cinema and stars is glamour and fashion. Who wore what is the question you're all dying to ask and that is the very questions that tabloids and newspapers answer over and over again weeks after the starry event concludes. So to save you the trouble of searching far and wide to find out who was hot and who wasn't we bring you a feature analyzing those who set the green carpet on fire and those who left chills as they walked by. Ladies and gentlemen fashion ka hai yeh jalwa!'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Its rather rare that Ash lands on the 'not hot' list and this event was no different! The elegant diva simply glowed in a beautiful golden sari by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. DEFINITELY HOT!
Abhishek Bachchan – Bachchan Jr looked dashing in a beautiful black suit and silver tie that was simply dazzling next to Ash's golden sari. HOT!

Amrita Rao was grace personified in a lovely pink gown that simply made her the princess of the evening! Not that she wasn't stunning enough by herself but in the arms of two drop dead gorgeous men like Anil Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna for whom dashing would have been a total understatement! This dynamite trio are definitely HOT in the classiest way possible!

Anushka Sharma may have succeeded in teaching the mantra of Dance Pe Chance but maybe a new mantra of 'Dress Pe Chance Maar Le' needs to be adopted because she definitely maro-ed a chance on the wrong Mandira Virk piece this time around! Word of advice to Anushka, think carefully about your body shape before jumping for a dress because this dress is just not happening! Not hot!

It's a miracle how Bipasha Basu just like a chameleon blends into whatever look is required for the event. Whether it's shaking her booty in a peppy clubbing dress for Lucky Boy, a sporty look for a Reebok print ad, a hot and sexy sarong for Jism or strutting her stuff on the red/green carpet for an award function! This Gauri – Nainik number simply looks glorious on Bips! Elegantly Hot!

Despite not having the best connection when it comes to films Dia Mirza definitely has much better connections when it comes to her designers. She looks like she's ready to take a flight to land of fairies with this magical gown that simply flows beautifully! Magically hot!

Genelia D'Souza is rocking the new hairstyle but this pink evening gown...not so much! Like Anushka, 'kabhie kabhie genelia' also needs a gentle reminder that she's got a rocking bod utterly non-fit for such a baggy piece of clothing! Tragically not hot!

Kangana Ranaut definitely has a thing for fairytales! Filmfare's fashion issue names her the 'damsel in distress' of current times and now she takes the image one step further by becoming our very own Cinderella in this gorgeous Ricky Roy ball gown! Who needs a prince charming when you are so sizzling hot all by yourself!

Following Ash's trail of golden sarees is another beauty queen this time around it's ex Miss Universe Lara Dutta in this stunning glittery Manav Gangwani saree which makes her simply undeniably hot!

Gold was the color of the evening as Minisha Lamba glided in another golden piece however not as ravishing as the others. For some odd reason the designer must have been rather confused whether they wanted a tight fitting straight cut or a flowy gown riding in the wind. Sadly this confusion's victim is Minisha who despite sporting a great attitude and chic doesn't blend well with the style or the color. Definitely not hot!

Whilst Mugdha Godse tried her very best to save this Gavin Miguel gown however she tragically failed thanks to the choker that just is not working not to mention the unexplainable frontal design! Without a doubt, not hot!

Neha Dhupia may just have been better dressed for the Star Trek film premiere and not an award function on earth with this silver Shantanu and Nikhil gown. Rookie mistake Neha but sadly it put you in the not hot list!
Taking her Desi Girl image a bit too seriously Priyanka Chopra sadly was same old same old in yet another Manish Malhotra sari. Come on girl it's time to spice it up a bit! You're gorgeous and innovative designers would fall at your feet! Be adventurous and take a leap Piggy chops! Until then sadly you remain boringly un-hot!

Since time immemorial red has been the color of opulence and class and Shreyas Talpade proved this once again sporting a shining black suit and glowing in between all the black is a glorious bright red tie matching up the brightness of his smile! Of course that's hot!

Following Lara Dutta another Manav Gangwani item makes its way onto the red/green carpet and this time around its Bengali beauty Raima Sen looking like an absolutely ravishing angel in white! Whenever in doubt of the perfect color to glow through the crowd, opt for white! Thankfully for Raima the color worked wonderfully with her skin tone landing her in the utterly hot list!

Throughout the award season southern belle Asin has rarely gotten it wrong when it comes to her ravishing look on the prestigious carpet and on the stage and IIFA was not different! Stupendously hot!

Some regard her as the latest fashion diva of the industry with connections so great that she was exclusively designed for by Chanel at the Filmfare awards; however one can't help wondering upon seeing this number that Sonam really has to start thinking about her outfits no matter which designer it is! After all they're all human prone to make mistakes and Anamika Khanna is no exception as this dress says! The jewelry and hair are simply rocking but the dress just seems to be straight out of the stone ages and sadly this particular trend has not made a comeback for reasons too obvious to explain! Let's keep this comeback delayed shall way Sonam?! This time around this diva is a definitely not hot!

Sophie Chaudry looked ravishing in a sweet pink sari and silver attire. Could have hardly gone wrong with this and hence why it definitely get a vote for being perfectly 'hot'!

One would think or presume that Miss Universe would never go wrong with her attire but how wrong we are to assume this. Sadly Sushmita Sen's Roberto Cavalli gown falls flat on its face as it manages to send out chills as she walks by! While the black and simplicity are working perfectly with Sush's elegance which requires no additional attire, the design is simply the wrong version of being innovative! We're sorry to say this but this is without a doubt not hot!

Whilst wife Suzzane looked simply ravishing in this silver evening gown, Hrithik didn't match up to the same hotness despite being the hotness star of current times. The D2 star looks like he was totally unprepared for a function of this nature and just sported the first suit in sight and totally forgot to groom the rest of himself! Hence for this couple the verdict is 50:50!

Sadly this couple doesn't even come close to a 50:50 verdict. Whilst Zayed's stiffness and bow-tie look makes him prone to be called the waiter of the evening, Malaika made a rookie mistake with the choker from God knows which era! Cute idea to match up the black and slickness guys but sadly this one doesn't pass the cut. Not hot!

Raveena Tandon gave all the new entrants a run for their money with this stunning Manav Ganwani gown which is the way black is meant to be worn! The hair, the jewelry and the dress combine to simply spell e.l.e.g.a.n.c.e! She demands attention as glides by the crowd of screaming fans to her destination, and that is our prestigious list stars that were utterly hot!
Well sadly we've come to the end of this journey of glitz, glamour and fashion of IFFA 2009! Be sure to leave a comment about your thoughts on who was hot and was not! For now 'yehi tha fashion ka jalwa' for this jalwa is never ending!
