So? It was popular nonetheless. If only prevoius stars already make those songs popular, as the claim here was, that Helen made yeh mera dil popular, then amitabh also made khaike paan very popular. But, it was Kareena who put her own bit into the song and turned it into a rage once again! End of story, Kareena, despite just one item number, stole the show in Don 😛

^^uhm desgrl, i would have to disagree with you here, as far as i can remember i think yes the song did well, it was really catchy, but its never been remembered that kareena excelled in the song, if anything, shes remembered for her thunder thighs (which i still believe she didnt have, she was of normal weight, it was manish's fault)

That's my point as well. Like she was criticized as well, called fat, and the moves were bizzare, yet at the same time, the song was such a hugeeee hit! And with kareena, even with criticism, its liek she leaves her mark. I dont think the same would have happened otherwise, as Agent007 pointed out, there were other remakes as well, with Urmila and Mallika of Mehbooba Mehbooba.

I mean despite being a mediocre dancer, she still leaves an impact with criticism. And that's my piont. When she's not given the lesser role or the short end of the stick deal, its not easy to overshadow Kareena 😉

yeah i guess ill agree with u desi on that...

desi brides dont throw tantrums....i remember my cuzn did that on her wedding, had everything her way, which was i thought good cuz u dont get marrried everday, hopefully, n all eyebrows were raised

Exactly. Desi weddings are more of family affair. If anything, it's the 'rents who are on top of everything, and they're the one's who have meltdowns, not the bride [or even groom.] In Bride Wars, the families were shown at the end (during the actual marriage ceremonies) with the exception of Kate's brother. I don't know if they can do that in the remake, unless of course, it becomes a whole family vs. family thing rather than just the two girls. :shrug:

What if htey show two head strong girls who want to take charge of their wedding decisions?

All i know is that scene at the end, with that tackle, my god, it would be THE MOST HILARIOUS thing in a desi wedding lehenga, lmao! And to see the "desi" reaction of all the baraatis and the dulha and everything, my gosh, that woudl be quite somtehing!
