Nicole Kidman has a reputation for making obscure career choices but her latest really is a fizzer, according to some.
The porcelain-skinned beauty has appeared alongside Slumdog Millionare child star Rubina Ali for a Schweppes soft drink commercial that has been labelled "weird" and "confusing".

Kidman features as a travelling princess who arrives at a palace for a rendezvous with her suitor, Britain's Daily Mail reports.
Ali, dressed in traditional Indian garb, catches Kidman's eye and the pair share a tender moment beside a pier where they touch each other's faces.
Kidman then leaves the pier, removes her lace headdress and unzips her dress before uniting with her prince, played by Bollywood star Arjun Rampal.
But just as the pair are about to kiss, Kidman runs off into her room in the palace where she slams the door and picks up a bottle of Schweppes.
The actress swigs from the bottle, turns to the camera and says, "what did you expect?" before bursting into giggles.
Media personality Mia Freedman criticised the commercial, saying it was confusing.
"Nicole Kidman's new TV commercial. She strips. She drinks. Does anyone understand it? Anyone?," she wrote on her Twitter account.
Another Twitter user wrote: "Foreign commercials are odd. What are they trying to say? Nicole Kidman likes to get naked when she drinks Schweppes? India? I have no idea."
Viral video blogs have also joined the chorus of criticism.
"Why is the little girl looking at her all admiringly like "Pretty white lady!" ' actually, not to be too mean about Nicole's injectables but maybe she's thinking "Cool, an alien!," the VideoGum blog said.
