shiva, I haven't talk to u in like forever. It's great seeing you here. But does anybody know where Naughtygirl or I think her username was something else but it started with naughty...LOL she was also a kareena fan

I think film publicity maybe the reason these articles are being done. If you looked at those pictures from that one awards show, I think Kareena and Shahid are amicable towards one another and seem to have moved on, perhaps Kareena more readily. But glad to see everyone getting along. Everyone is just bashing Subash K. Jerk (great nickname btw).
And Aishu, you talking about ms.naughtydevi, I liked her alot too. She was pretty funny. And I liked her posts too.

Why blame Jha? Kareena and Saif aren't kids. They have given statements. 😛

Rhea, thanks for the info! Can you please post the Yuvraaj review? lol

Yuvvraaj Review by Subhash K Jha

Yuvraaj Review
By Subhash K Jha

Starring Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif
Directed by Subhash Ghai
Rating: ***

Subhash Ghai's loveliest film in years has a symphonic texture, feel and movement to it. From the opening shots of Katrina Kaif labouring lusciously over the cello to the montage towards the end when Boman Irani, playing a zany surgeon, hops skips and jumps in the hospital corridor to announce the hero's recovery, "Yuvvraaj" reworks old themes of family ties and unequal love matches to suit a new clientele.

It says it's okay to want money. But it's not okay to sacrifice family for funds. The palate is passionate. The look, feel and flavour of the presentation are near-exquisite. Ghai's hard-earned reputation as a showman is on show here with shimmering austerity.

Less is constantly more in "Yuvvraaj". The story of three wealthy brothers battling for the billions after their tycoon father's death cannot be entirely exonerated of excesses. The supporting characters of ghoulish wealth - gold diggers and cleavage revealing sirens - seem straight out of Ghai's "Ram Lakhan" and "Trimurti".

But all said and done, there's a delicacy to the narration that most cinema today is unable to achieve.

"Yuvvraaj" is not a film in a hurry. Though the pacing is even and stable, and feelings are frequently created out of the background score, it seldom gets cumbersome to watch.

Cinematographer Kabir Lal and art designer Oomang Kumar make sure our interest level in the incidents in the "Yuvvraaj" family never flags.

The performances are frequently charming and at times intriguing in their shadowy suggestions. The writer, played by Aushima Sawhney, flits in and out with stealth and grace, serving as both narrator and equaliser in this tumultuous tale of greed and redemption.

Bala, who plays autistic hero Anil Kapoor's loyal friend, seldom speaks and remains an innocent mute spectator to the self-serving avarice of the rest of the characters.

After over-the-top performances in some hideous comedies, Anil is in full form as a psychologically impaired musical genius. The character's vulnerability and lack of man-made manoeuvrings are expressed in the most tender and heart-melting expressions of a mind that doesn't understand materialism and manipulation.

Anil holds the film and its loose ends together and serves as a reference point for this tale with a moral for our times.

Lower down the cast, Zayed Khan as Anil's kid brother pumps in the right amount of hedonistic confusion into his spoilt rich brat's act.

But clearly the stars of the show are A.R. Rahman's music and Gulzar's lyrics. Blending into the supremely mellow fabric of the characters' chaotic inner worlds, the music blends symphonic elements into a big large epic desi sound.

Seamless in its splendid synthesis of feelings and sounds, and avoiding over-punctuation except in the Broadway-like choreography, "Yuvvraaj" catches the characters' inner worlds in a state of reposeful grace.

The excesses, when they occur, are often doubly embarrassing because of the film's continually fine structure and style. Often as the narration takes steep cultural swerves from Prague to Austria to London, Ghai puts in interior sequences on bad sets that intrude on the narration's streamlined motivations.

Moments such as the one where Anil sings publicly for the first time are heartstopping in their sensitivity. But at times, Ghai loses grip over the narration, especially when some of the actors choose to do their own thing rather than remain in character.

But there is so much in "Yuvvraaj" to be thankful for. The splendour of the locales never overpowers the characters' right to be where they are.

As in "Pardes" and "Yaadein", Ghai questions joint-family values and the rapidly-changing equations in modern times. While pricking our collective conscience, "Yuvvraaj" rarely throws up a moment when we can't look Ghai's vision straight in the eye. It is among the finest films of 2008.

A letter from Sonu Nigam to Subhash K Jha

Posted by: Indicine Team | July 15th, 2007
Subhash K Jha for queit sometime now has been degrading singer / actor Sonu Nigam. It took everyone by surprise to notice such a change in Subhash who has always been praising Sonu for his singing abilities and acting skills. Sonu reveals the reason behind such a change in Subhash

Without wasting too much of your precious space I'd like to say that for a long time I've been reading, at the insistence of my fans and well wishers, various articles which contain one or more ways to include and humiliate me and my work, written by Subhash K Jha. All I want to say is I am sure he is a great asset to your reputed paper and very well known to his fraternity, but I'd like to put into your notice that he is the same guy who has always had over-whelming great words of praises for me once upon the time, from my impeccable singing abilities, to my acting prowess, especially in my movie LOVE IN NEPAL. (Please surf the net and read his review of the movie 3 years back)

So what suddenly happened that today he humiliates me every fortnight in some or the other article in your paper or the other's that he writes for? Of course I am not the only one in his hate list, there is Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman, Shilpa, Ashaji, Anu Malik, Ismail Darbar, Alka Yagnik, Adnaan and the list goes on? but here I wanna talk about myself!

Let me spill the beans open for you. I've kept quiet for too long just hoping that his conscience will someday overcome his vengeance for me. It?s not a secret in the industry that he is a homosexual (read Bi-sexual). God Bless him for Homosexuals are normal people with just different sexual preferences, just like men lusting for women is not a taboo. But a man punishing a woman for not complying with his sexual advancement is an issue right? So why isn't a man imposing upon another man an issue? Isn't this a free world? Am I supposed to reciprocate to something that I am not interested in? And do I have to be subjected to this kind of DADAGIRI for no fault of mine?

Some time back, there was an article where he states that I threatened him. Yes I did! He challenged my audacity for not allowing him to take my interview. I didn't want to talk to him. I did tell him to stay away from me when he comes to Bombay. What is my fault in this? No one is obligated to interact with people who make one feel uncomfortable! And especially when someone would constantly talk either negative, or suggestive!

I am not just an artist but also a reader of your newspaper from the time I gained consciousness to this world. I demand you to treat me like a common man.

I am not alone in this world; I have a closely knit family, friends and admirers who feel deeply hurt when this kind of unaccountable bashing is inflicted upon me. I want to be left alone. I am going to have my first baby soon and I want to give him/her all my time and focus in the next few months keeping myself away from the routine for sometime. Like any other father I think I deserve this space. I don't want to be subjected to this strange kind of sexual assault where all that I did like a "phenomena" in his own words, some time back, has become something so hate worthy for this sick man.

I have his "I miss you and Love you Sonu" and "I am sorry" messages saved in various phones of mine and today I thank God that I never erased them!

Whether I succeed or fail, I have never resorted to cheap means of publicity or scandals have been respectful to my seniors and encouraging to my juniors. I have seen poverty, struggle. I am not a star son and God has given me the blessing of entertaining the world with my art which I have honed with tireless hardwork. Everyone, from my seniors to my colleagues to my juniors, swear by my hardwork and dedication. And then, there is this man, who drags me in all his articles, lambasts me, shamelessly tries to tarnish my hard earned image, step by step, almost like a lover scorned by denial! I can very well take this all lying down too sir, but I just read somewhere recently once again that taking injustice lying down is a bigger sin.

It?s my duty to exercise this right of mine by writing to you, by presenting my case in front of you. I leave in your worthy hands the task of presenting my case in front of the world who is witnessing Sonu-spanking for last 3 months. My parents have been hurting reading all this coz they know the reality! Is my not being a homosexual so punishable an offence? If someone can do this to me, I wonder what the new strugglers, models and actors have to go through in this industry. My heart goes out to them. Please let them know we are not living in a jungle where someone's silence is taken as a sign of weakness by a beast! Let them know that homosexuals have their right to be themselves in this society, but so do heterosexuals!!

Thanking you in advance.
- Sonu Niigam

P.S. I don't sound nasal when I go on high octaves as written by him to justify another singer. Even a kid will tell you that.

P.S. As Mark Twain said, I'd rather deserve all the accolades and not have them, than have them and not deserve them!

LOL..RIya see how Skjerk "forgot" to mention the leading hero of the film only.
This isn't new.Even before Sonu came out in public we all knew what kind of a Journo SKJerk is due to his articles.
PS-Me thinks SKJerk asked Salman for some "favour" and since it wasn't done he has taken it upon himself to bring him down n other people who do not give him interviews etc...
What I don't get is that why a Journo of such low credentials is still in BW.

If there is some one who uses their personal life to gain publicity & promotions-it is Kareena & Saif for sure, not Shahid. I think its high time they stop giving interview about their love life very days. Its goto stop, for their own sanity, else everything will end in tears.

i don't understand why kareena is sayng such things about shahid i think he has moved on so why is she being so bitter, and anyways if jornosask her about shahid she doesn;t get blamed so why is shahid getting blamed if jornos mention her. as for saif hes acting immature because if he was offered kaminey why would he reject it , since omkara is considered to be his best performance so logically it makes sense that he would do the film its not like hes doing like 5 or 6 movies relaesing this year , so he could have done kaminey, so he needs to stop trying to big himself up.

And Kareena saying leave us alone- Just one advice for her- If you live you whole life in front of the media be ready for all the criticism & gossip too. And its not the media who needs to leave her alone, she needs to leave the media alone.
