It was an unforgettable experience for all the 10 lucky winners of the 'Meet-n-Greet Shahid Kapoor' contest that was organized exclusively by Bollywood Hungama.com. The winners not only got a chance to interact with their favorite matinee idol but also got a chance to pose with him for photographs. For all those who missed being there, we, at Bollywood Hungama, would be showcasing an exclusive video of the event. Meanwhile, we bring to you some snapshots from this exciting event.
Looking dapper in a green checked shirt and jeans, Shahid Kapoor arrived at the venue (a famous suburban lounge in Mumbai) pretty much on time, much to the delight of his young fans. The charming actor immediately broke the ice and before one could say 'S-H-A-H-I-D', the lucky winners and him had already begun their conversation.
It was a very informal setting, with the winners getting a chance to quiz Shahid on a number of things, right from his growing up years, to his role models and his forthcoming films. Shahid spoke about how he spent some years in Delhi during his childhood before coming to Mumbai. Since most of the young winners were still in their college, Shahid reminisced about his own college days at Mumbai's Mithibai College, where he indulged in a lot of fun and masti.
Shahid's next release is the much anticipated Kaminay where he co-stars with hottie Priyanka Chopra. Speaking about his role in the film, Shahid said, "It's a very different and challenging role for me, as it's my first attempt at doing a double role. You will see me as a good guy as well as a bad guy. I hope all of you accept me in this role too just like you have in all my previous films" Shahid also said that shooting on the film indeed was a memorable yet grueling experience as he had to perform a lot of action sequences, most of which were shot in extreme difficult conditions. His young fans simply now can't wait to watch the actor in this potboiler.
One of the highlights of the evening was when Shahid was asked to sing a song by the winners present there. While he initially tried to excuse himself by reasoning that he is a 'bad singer', he gave in to the young fans' demands and broke into a rendition of his chartbusting track 'Bakhuda' from his film Kismat Konnection. He was soon joined in by some of the winners who surely wouldn't forget this moment for the rest of their lives.
Finally it was time to leave but not before Shahid posed for photographs patiently both individually with each of the winners and with the whole gang. Flashing his trademark million dollar smile, Shahid even obliged a few young girls with autographs. As for a few unlucky ones, who couldn't make it in time due to the unpredictable Mumbai traffic, Shahid made their day by having a word with them on the phone.
