or if the movie was made in the 50's or 60's then Guru Dutt could have made a great adaptation... he could play Heathcliff too and Waheeda Rehman as Catherine Earnshaw/Linton (double role??).. not too aquainted with other old school desi actors of the time...
70's or 80's version should defnitely have had Angry Young Man Bachchan as Heathcliff, Parveen Babi as Catherine Earnshaw, donno umm Waheeda Rehman as Nelly?? boooooring shahshi kapoor as Edgar Linton? well Muqaddar ka Sikander kinda had vaguely similar storyline, big B being an orphan and taken in and then shunned because of his status by Rakhi's family..but they never fell in love.. etc... that was a decent flick..
if its being made today then I don't want Vishal Bhardwaj remaking it, find his movies a tad too overrated (but yet better than majority of annoying desi directors)...
SLB would make a visually stunning movie but he has a tendency to go over the top.. if he doesn't get too over ambitious then he can make a decent adaptation i would say
Anurag Kashyap's version would be interesting..he could do a modern spin on it.. with sexed up Heathcliff snorting cocaine lol
these people i don't want anywhere near the adaptation:
K Jo, Khans, Kapoors, Chopras and their associates, I don't wanna see Heathcliff dancing in some exotic place showing off his 6/8 pack, no thank you.. dont want your cheesiness
