Ur being sooooo stereotypical. Beauty is subjective. Are outerlooks the only thing that'll spark a r/ship?! So much for inner beauty and all that crap ! I noe alot of my 20+ GUY friends who still drool over her kuch kuch hota hain koi mil gaya entry song.. and this is the effect of a star.

See, times aren't always good for everybody. What goes up has to come down. Its unfair to make a judgement abt her forthcoming film without even seeing the film. Let alone seeing the film, its not even completed in the first place !

I am both a Rani and Preity fan - but like wat u said abt preity's achievement ... lemme tell u .. IPL and NESS wadia arent achievements in my opinion.

Rani has won sooo many acclodes for her acting in Yuva, Saathiya, Black, Veer Zaara etc etc .. Just because she's given a few flops, doesnt mean she's a flop actor.

Infact, i've always felt Preity's and Rani's career hv gone the same way parallely- they both debuted the same time and were instant hits with their first few films.. then they faced a period of flops with films like har dil jo pyar karega etc... but then when preitybecame popular with kal ho na ho, rani too got popular with saathiya and yuva .. then veer zaara came along with black.... and both were at the top ... and then came KANK, Jaaneman, Babul ... and ever since then they both hv yet to give a hugecommercial hit..

Thus I don't understand why only Rani is targetted - just because she doesnt own a cricket team or just because she's a 30 yr old single woman or because she doesnt have a gd looking rich boyfriend or a daughter-in-law of some big celeb?
That's ridiculuous. Perhaps she just wants to be known for what she truly is - an actor. And despite her flop films like laaga chunari mein daag or ta ra rum pum - i truly enjoyed her performance.. even in the God forsaken Saawariya - she was brilliant.

Give her some time ppl - she'll be back in form.

I've never felt Rani is a star. IMO, she just doesn't have that IT factor. A decent actress? Yes but not a star. And when she does act, it's almost always overhyped. Bunty aur Babli and Black are perfect examples of this. That said, however, I do think that she can revive her career - she has the potential to do it, plus, enough contacts in the industry to pull it off.
Minor note on the analogy of their careers: Unlike Rani, Preity has gone internationa by doing "Heaven on Earth" - a fantastic movie, by the way - and recieved numerous accolades for it in a number of international film festivals, eventually leading to her receiving the Silver Hugo Award at CIFF. Although the movie isn't by any stretch of the imagination a "huge commercial hit" due in no small amount to its limited distribution, Preity's performance was a lot better and refreshing than any of Rani's have been in the recent times. It also has a lot to do with the fact that Preity has been versatile from the start - from the unmarried mother in Kya Kehna to the live-in relationship partner in Salaam Namaste to the docile but gaurded Naina in Kal Ho Na Ho, she's always pulled of these characters with elan. I'm afraid the same can't be said for Rani. Baring Black, her roles are almost always regulated to the orthodox girl next door. When she does do something different - Saawariya & Laaga Chunari Mein Daag - she doesn't do it very well. For Saawariya, I think she was strictly okay and in LCMD, Konkona was a lot more effective at emoting, in my opinion.

I hope Rani comes back with back to back hits. She deserves. I really love her acting. And she should get married to a good looking guy maybe salman khan...hehe I like their jodi. Move over katrina LOL
I hope she doesn't change her name too. We already have people changing their name because of these losers saying that name will be luck for them...hehe

Ah. I don't wanna get into a Rani vs Preity Debate. 😕 Been there. Done that. All i can say is I love n respect both the actors.

As far as Rani being or not being a star - who are we to decide it? she IS already a star.. a filmstar that is.
She might not have the aura of aishwarya rai or the glamour which preity carries with herself.... but she definitely has that IT factor to make it where she is...

Oh yes, i did read abt preity's heaven on Earth .. kudos to her !

But talking abt being versatile ... Rani isn't any far behind. wat rani did in Yuva, i dun think preity cudve done it... n neither do i feel rani cudve done wat preity did in kya kehna...

My point of my previous post was just to stop ppl from being stereotypical - ppl shud stop criticising her for her "aunty ji shabby looks" or "not having an IPL team" or a "bf like Ness Wadia" .... n thus declare her n her films as flop - they are mixing up issues !
