Salman in Yash Raj's next venture
While it was recently reported that Salman Khan had replaced Aamir Khan for Yash Raj Films' (YRF) forthcoming venture to be directed by Yash Chopra himself, sources now inform that Salman has been finalised for another project altogether being made under the Yash Raj Banner. Meanwhile Aamir Khan's film with Yash Chopra is still on and the film is in the pre-production stages.
Although there had been reports that Salman and Yash Raj head honcho, Aditya Chopra were having problems working with each other, sources have a different tale to tell.
"Salman was the first actor to be approached for Chak De India. He loved the script but then suggested changes in the film's climax — he wanted the final match of the hockey tournament to be played between India and Pakistan. He felt that the story would then come a full circle. Aditya Chopra did not agree to the idea and they parted ways amicably. Shah Rukh Khan was then signed on for the role. Salman however, is now looking forward to the YRF project being written and directed by Vijay Acharya," says our source.
The new film with Salman also stars R. Madhavan and Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishen while the female leads are yet to be finalised. The film is set to be a wacky action-comedy that will go on floors in the second half of 2009 and will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who made his debut with YRF's Tashan last year. Vijay has had a long association with the Yash Raj banner having even written the script for Dhoom and
Dhoom 2.
