^The movie called "Deewar" won instead of Sholay. Deewar is also considered a classic :) Not a movie no one remembers.

I dont think that Aamir was grunting and growling. He potrayed the part of short term memory loss patient with perfection. He depicted the emotions of losing somone speacial in the best way possible. Noone in the world even tries to question dedication and the acting ability of Aamir khan. As far as Hritik is concerned he too is a very good actor. But he did nothing special in jodha akhbar. The story of JA wasnt pathbreaking the boxoffice wasnt pathbreaking and the acting was ok.. although the music was awesome. On the other hand Ghajini is the biggest blockbuster of the year aamir acted superbly.. asin was awesome. Anyways I am silly tat I am arguing here.. Aamir doesnt care about awards so as a fan i should also not care if ghajini won. As it has already won the hearts of the audience. And will go down in the history as the Biggest bollywood blockbuster..
Guess what then?😛 You just found the first person (out of the many) who dares question the acting ability of the perfectionist. Yes, I thought he was quite pathetic as someone suffering from anterograde amnesia. People suffering from anterograde amnesia do not scream as though they are a caged animal. For a perfection portrayal of that - try watching Momento. I won't even bother comparing Guy Pearce to Aamir. He was leaps and bounds ahead in the acting department, withouth a doubt.
I'm afraid I disagree with your statement that Hrithik wasn't good or out of the ordinary in JA. He also won the award for best actor at the "Golden International Film Festival" so I'm afraid your feelings aren't shared by the majority. As for "pathbreaking" (in what terms ?)- well, neither was Ghajini. It was remade from a film by the same name which was a remake of the actual 'pathbreaking' Momento. So, your point is moot. Ghajini being a "blockbuster" has little to do with the content of the actual movie and a lot to do with the names associated with it: Aamir, Asin, AR Rahman, A.R. Murgadoss.
As for him not attending FF, I think it's a case of sour grapes and it's going to take a lot to change my mind. The year he did deserve to win (for Rangeela), but his contemporary SRK won the award for DDLJ (SRK's performance was strictly mediocre, IMO), Aamir decided not to go. I get that people think Aamir was discriminated against, but then the Oscars (the allegedly "better" awards in Aamir's opinion) play this game as well. Danny Boyle's film "Trainspotting" was infinitely better than "Slumdog Millionaire" - and this is coming from someone who adored SM - yet he won an award for SM. Kind of like Aamir winning for Raja Hindustani even though he really deserved it for Rangeela. This year - I really don't think he deserved it. Given the choice, I'd vote for Naseeruddin Shah. I say, suck it up. It's all a part of the package.
