Why Esha isn't in Dhoom 2?

Dhoom was one of the the biggest hits of the last year. The makers even announced a sequel to the film. But Esha's name did not figure in the cast.

When asked about it, Esha laughs and says, "No one came to bail Dilbaara out of jail. If you have seen the climax I go to jail and no one comes to bail me out. Probably they will bail me out for Dhoom 3."

But it is the success of Dhoom that has instigated Esha Deol to work out a career strategy for herself.

"I will agree to do only two-heroine or solo-heroine films. That is what I am working on right now. And unfortunately or fortunately the films that have been released I had signed them before Dhoom and I am happy that they have all done well like No Entry. I have no regrets being a part of the film because it has been declared a hit. But I don't want to do multi-starrers anymore."

Compared to the roles that she has done, Esha found Main Asia Hi Hoon to be creatively satisfying.

"It was a challenging role. It is something probably teenagers are going through. As far as my knowledge, the 60s culture has hit in a lot of ways and there are a lot of youngsters who are into drugs or don't get attention from their parents. I played the role to attract the youth so that they can identify with it. I had seen 28 Days starring Sandra Bullock sometimes you know what you can do well. It was a different look. It was risky role I enjoyed doing it."

It is David Dhawan's Shaadi No1 that Esha Deol is looking forward to. Esha says, "I play Diya. She is a wannabe star. She gives all her attention to her career. Because of that she does not give Veer her husband any attention."

When asked about the film that her mother Hema Malini was planning, Esha says, "There is still time for that. It will begin sometime next year. Nothing concrete has been finalised as yet. It would probably be someone's life story or the generation gap between mother and daughter and the difference in their ways of thinking. But no decision has been taken as yet."

Esha will also feature in Meghna Gulzar's Honeymoon. "It is too early to talk about it. The film is emotional and at the same time hilarious," she says
