Indore, Feb 11 The decision of DeepikaPadukoneto pursue an acting career was entirely her own and her father PrakashPadukonehas no regrets that she did not take to badminton, a sport in which he brought glory to the nation.

"I gave her (Deepika) all the freedom to choose a career of her choice,"Padukone told reporters here when asked whether he wanted his daughter to become a badminton player."I am happy that her passion has now turned into a good career,"he said.Padukone, who was here to cheer up participants of the NationalBadmintonChampionship, said his parents had supported him and his brother in choosing their respective careers of becoming a badminton player and an engineer."Similarly, I also encouraged my daughters to choose a career of their choices. Deepikalikes modelling and films, while Anishais sweating it out on the golf course to become a professional golfer,"he said."If they want to succeed in their respective careers they will have to work hard,"the former All EnglandBadminton champion said.

aww he seems like a cool dad.Its good that they raised their daughters to be independent and strong willed. Both the girls seemed to know what they wanted to do in life in their mid teens and had the ambition and drive to work for it. As opposed to other girls born with silver spoon in their mouth who are happy spending away their daddy and mommy's cash and depending on them for everything..

They are all hard working people and Deepika is an amazing person. She is talented, hard working, believes in her self and knows what she wants. 😃 I wish her all the best, always.

I'm sure sonam is very delighted that she's born in to a wealthy family... who wouldn't be...

The silver spoon thing was unnecessary if that was meant as a dig against Sonam. At least she agrees that she was given everything but it is not as if she is not working hard herself. No matter how much money her father has, he can't act for her or go to her shooting schedules... She is working hard but she doesn't flaunt it off.

I like Deepika's confidence and the way she carries herself forth. Agreed she works hard but she also used her father's money when she came to model because at the beginning she did not make money by herself either...

uffffff

I am so sorry Insanity.. i didn't realize people would start putting words in my mouth.. next time i might use a thesaurus and use alternatives of "silver spoon" phrase just so they don't bombard the thread with unrelated things

^^ 😆😆 I saw it coming, but was hoping no one would take a different meaning out of it. But of course, there is only one person in B-town that was born into a wealthy family... "with a silver spoon"
