The melodious songs of Delhi-6 have already won the hearts of music lovers, but master composer A R Rahman is still busy working on its background music, less than two weeks before the scheduled release.

Rahman, whose schedules went haywire due to the commitments in Los Angeles for the Golden Globe award for his score in Slumdog Millionnaire, has apparently been working frantically in his Chennai studio.

Mehra flew to Chennai on Thursday night for portions of the background music. There are rumours that the film's release may have to be postponed, but the filmmaker is confident about Rahman's musical genius and is sure all deadlines will be met.

"As far as I'm concerned we're on. The background score is nearly done. I'm flying down with one reel that needs looking into and the mixing is now on. When it's Rahman you know the pace and by now you're used to it," said Mehra.

The director couldn't stop raving about the songs created by Rahman for the Abhishek Bachchan-Sonam Kapoor starrer.

"And look at the songs. The connect that they've found with listeners is amazing. T-Series is not able to keep up with the supply orders. I personally feel the background score is shaping up even better. In fact we plan to release a separate album of the background music," Mehra said.

The songs that have already become popular include Masakalli, Arziyan and the funky title song.

ROM said it's not delayed.

The producers should not postpone the release...Even the kabooter on the head is getting slightly annoying..They should have released it last.It is their best.

It was a relief that Abhishek finally talked about Delhi 6 in NYC..but so disinterestedly.(contrast that to Dostana).

His b'day is over ...when is he coming back to India?Why does he not think that this film will help his career?

Dilli 6 is a big film for Abhishek Bachchan. I wonder why he isn't even talking about it. I thought he was flying with his wife to NY to promote Dilli 6 but he didn't speak about it.
