It seems time had come for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as a candidate of Samajwadi Party.

Source http://www.sexyash.me/will-aishwarya-contest-on-samajwadi-party-ticket-from-bihar

Leaders of Samajwadi Party and its workers in Bihar have decided to offer Aishwarya the party ticket for the Madhepura seat against Janata Dal-United (JD-U) national president Sharad Yadav, a party official said.

Overwhelming demand from the party workers made the Samajwadi Party Bihar parliamentary board to recommend Aishwarya's name to party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Senior party leader and chairman of the party's state parliamentary board Tulsi Singh said that a large number of party workers and people had requested him to convince Mulayam Singh to give the party ticket to Aishwarya from Madhepura.

The Madhepura seat is held by the Rashtriya Janata Dal's Pappu Yadav, who is serving life imprisonment in Tihar Jail in Delhi for his involvement in the murder of Left leader Ajit Sarkar. His wife Ranjita Ranjan is a Lok Janshakti Party MP from Saharsa.

JD-U leader Sharad Yadav is also likely to contest for his old seat from Madhepura.

In the last Lok Sabha polls in 2004, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, the RJD chief, won from Madhepura by defeating Sharad Yadav. Lalu Prasad later resigned the Madhepura seat and opted to retain the Chapra seat. Madhepura, a rural seat, is dominated by the backward Yadav caste. Last year, Madhepura was hit by devastating floods when the Kosi river changed its course after a breach upstream in Nepal.

NO WAY!! Please no. As if we do not have enough incompetent politicians that we need to add actors to that list. The only actor who made a decent politician was the late Sunil Dutt.

That is only because for most part he remained on sidelines. However there were many stars from south who had really made big time into Politics. Why not Ash? But if she were to choose SP ticket, that dream may be a bubble waiting to be popped.

I am not talking about making it big. I am talking about "decent politician" one who cares about their constituency and people. Jayalalitha made it big - literally and figuratively - but she is not a good politician by any stretch of imagination. What do these stars know about the functioning of the country or our legislature? Nothing. Which is why Ash needs to stick to acting. Besides the SP party is a bunch of corrupt incompetent people with the bade bhaiyya Amar Singh at the forefront.

I may have to agree with you some points, however 80% of the guys who sit in that legislature are no better than a new comer. How much do you think Rajiv or his sons and daughters knew when they were brought into the politics. Not much...

Cleaner new politicians should enter the politics, otherwise the dirty politics forever will remain dirty, my two cents.

The lack of experience does not bother me. But according to me what makes a good politician is someone who knows his/her constituency really well. Ash's full time job is acting. From what I have read she has signed at least 4 new movies this year. How will she have the time to attend all sessions of the parliament, review issues and take care of her constituency. I agree there are several politicians who are doing the same. But does that mean we keep encouraging this? Do we not deserve leaders who take their responsibility as a full time job?

I can totally empathize with your concern. It is true that people with other full time jobs may not be able to do justice to the job in public office. However Ash can scale down her commitments to movies if she is sensible and she got really elected. But will she is anybody's guess at this point of time. The point though is she is much better than other filth out there. I for one would wish more serious people with public interest in mind should step forward into politics, but I dream a lot.

Ash isn't getting into politics. She has never shown any interest in it. Plus she is too busy, she has also signed quite a few movies that will keep her busy for another few years.

Plus her endorsements and other commitments will also take up her time.

I don't think Ash got any time for that! She is a very busy actresses!

In fact this is going to be a very busy year for Aish. She is already busy shooting for 'Ravan' and signed many new movies like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next movie, with Hrithik Roshan, Vipul Shah's next film with Akshay Kumar, Excel Entertainment's untitled thriller to name a few.

Yep, I would rather cherish that gorgeous face on silver screen than on political podiums. But lets wait and hope Ash makes right choice.
