Himesh Reshammiya's Waxed Chest
We love Himesh crooning Naam hain Tera Tera and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in his nasal voice and we love his catchy tunes. What we don't like is: His waxed chest, his constant "I am a badsoorat, Gujju Dhokla boy" rant, his 'acting', his new 'wannabe hep' wardrobe and his woven hair. The cap was much better!

We are wondering if Subhash Ghai will be called a 'showman' again as no one this year saw what he showed! Black and White was a strictly okay film which few understood and Yuvvraaj was an outright bad, lackluster affair which was a waste of talent, time and money. Unless he makes something like Karz (the old one), Hero or Pardes again, we don't want to see his films.
Salman may be one of the fittest and most stylish actors in Bollywood but he needs to realize that Ed hardy tees are now pass in Bollywood as every second person on the street and every wannabe in Bollywood is wearing cheap rip offs. He has worn Ed hardy tees to concerts, music launches and formal events. It is high time he donated those funky tees to street kids.
Rahul Bose was considered the King of art cinema with critically acclaimed fare like Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, English, August and Everybody Says I'm Fine in his kitty. But then he decided to go commercial. He fared well with Jhankaar Beats and Pyaar ke Side Effects but went horribly wrong with debacles like Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam and Dil Kabaddi this year. How an intelligent actor like him could find any sense and promote the mindless MGMEA and hasn't he seen enough movies to realize that Dil Kabaddi is a frame to frame lift off Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives? Such fine actors should not commit such crimes of desperation.
We love the delicious animated fare that Disney and DreamWorks dish out year after year. The animation is awesome and the stories have so much soul. Indian animated flicks are nowhere near that league. Movies like Dashavtaar and Cheenti Cheenti Bang Bang left a lot to be desired in terms of story and quality of animation while dubbed Thai film Jumbo was simply riding on Akshay Kumar's star power. What's ironic is that a lot of special effects and animation of Hollywood blockbusters is outsourced from India and we can't make a spellbinding animated spectacle which appeals to both children and adults.
Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Aaja Nachle, Tashan, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Roadside Romeo. The flops from the house of YRF have only gotten bigger and better over the past one year. Barring Chak De, Rab Ne and Bachna Ae Haseeno, their films have set records in box office failure in 2007-2008. So we don't want to see another flop from the prestigious production house and sincerely wish YRF's next release, Kabir Khan's promising Neil-Katrina-John starrer New York doesn't turn out to be a well guarded turkey.
Vidya Balan is too fat for Bollywood standards, she would do better down South - and she has little sense of dressing. What's worse is that she doesn't care. She thinks her pretty smile and powerful acting will take attention away from her bad clothes and plump figure. But that's not happening totally. There are more tabloid pages dedicated to her bad sense of style than her good performances.
Kareena's size zero figure and her affair with Saif contributed immensely to Tashan's pre release hype, Himesh went all out to promote Karzzzz and Salman and Katrina admitted to their relationship for the first time to promote Yuvvraaj. But all their efforts went down the drain as these films became monumental flops of the year. The cast of several movies was all about town so much so that we had an overdose of the movie even before it released. They promised one thing and delivered something else altogether, disappointing movie buffs.
Rajesh Khanna's sleazy stills from Wafaa are the most shocking pictures of the year. They make you go "Eewww!" and you ask in disbelief, "How could the former superstar do something like this?" Hasn't he heard of graceful retirement or did his libido drive him to such distasteful acts of desperation? Whatever the case, we don't want to see him make a fool of himself again. In fact we don't want to see his ageing blonde haired self in movies anymore as we don't want those sweet Anand and Aradhana memories tarnished by such trash.
After the debacle of his debut vehicle Love Story 2050, Harman Baweja has become Hurman S Baweja. It is yet to be seen if Victory will triumph at the BO. Another unmissable name change is Esha Koppikar's. She has now become Eesha Koppikhar. It has not helped her professionally but she sure managed to snag a rich boyfriend (restauranteur Timmy Narang). Another amusing one is that of Vivek Oberoi. He was going through a bad time after his break up with Ash so he became Viveik Oberoi and things became even worse. So he reverted to his original name and is steadily rising up professionally.
