Preity Zinta has crushed rumours of a break-up between her and lover Ness Wadia.

When Preity attended Shah Rukh Khan's birthday party over the weekend with Yuvraj Singh and not Ness, the Bollywood rumour-mill went into hyper mode with talks of a split between Preity and the businessman. But, Preity has quashed this story, saying, "Ness was out of town. Yuvraj is my Mohali team's captain. He was going along to Shah Rukh's party. I was going alone. We decided to go together… it was as simple as that. Should I avoid my friends to avoid tongues? No way! I've always done what I wanted to. Last year, I gave up the biggest commercial films to do a series of offbeat roles. People thought I had gone mad. Maybe I had. But I'm happy."

And how was Shah Rukh's party? Says Preity, "Compared to his earlier birthday parties this was a very intimate gathering. In fact, there was more TV crew outside than guests inside. I really enjoyed myself."
