| Bebo, Priyanka want to be 'Chamki'… Benegal confused! |
| Spicezee Bureau Mumbai, Sept 25: After the infamous Khan showdown turning once best buddies into sworn enemies, Bollywood is now gearing up for yet another messy catfight. But unlike the hot-blooded Khan men, the two-uber hot ladies, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are bringing the house down for reasons 'purely' professional. The two leading Tinsel Ville beauties have once again been pitted against each other in a role battle. However, this time round however they are not fighting for any big banners, leading man or sleazy commercial deals. The gorgeous babes are fighting it out for director' Shyam Benegal's next flick 'Chamki'. Going by the critical acclaim that the filmmakers' most recent flick, 'Welcome to Sajjanpur' has earned, it only makes sense for the two ladies to vie for a place in Benegal's film so desperately. Well, observing the stints of flops the two bodylicious babes have delivered this year, it's natural that they don't want to miss out on an opportunity like this. But what's important is…who is Benegal vying for? Apparently, Benegal wants them both. Confused, well don't be. Prior to his flick 'Welcome...' the director had approached both of them, at the time the film was titled as 'Chamki Chameli'. However, with Benegal being in oblivion for so long, the two actresses were apprehensive about giving their final nod to the film. But looks like post 'Welcome...' the tables have turned in Benegal's favour. Not only has the director revamped the entire subject of the flick and turned it into a musical, he even has the two ladies fighting for the much-coveted spot in the film. While Bebo is still in thinking mode, Priyanka is already lobbying for the film and was even quoted by a news daily saying, "I had read the script ages ago. The whole project has to be evaluated afresh. And who wouldn't want to work with Shyam Benegal?" Hmm… going by Shyam's taste, we are sure that the ladies will have to do much more than increasing their glamour quotient to impress the talented director. |
