What about all the other movies she did? Or do ppl just put em aside just to bash her?

Yuva, Omkara, Chameli, Refugee, Asoka. None were from big banners, but competent directors with great scripts.

Imitaz ali probably does like kareena just like every other directors like actors that do films that do well for them ...they develop a relationship main thing is he cast deepika because she suited that role l does not mean kareena could not do it though like maya you said it could just be he did not want to over expose the already exposed constantly (Even in golmaal now they refer to that tatoo that its pathetic)

The reason I say Deepika is overrated is because she did ONE movie, in which she didnt even dub her own lines, and all of a sudden she's being hailed as numero uno or in the race for numero uni with the likes of kareena and Aishwarya. She was even nominated for best actress in the filmfare awards for OSO. Now do you see what i mean by overrated?
In the second film, she didnt get one decent review, and most ppl reported that her voice turned them off. Perhaps they were expecting the dialogue delivery she gave in OSO...but that wasnt her to begin with.
Then ppl say Kareena is overrated. They keep forgetting kareena worked 7 sevens years to get where she is today. And even now, the only movie they credit her with is JWM. Everyone thinks that she was overracting for the past 7 years of her career and miraculously stopped in JWM. That's my main concern here.

Whether you like kareena or not, you cannot deny that she has a lot more experience than Deepika. So I dont think Imtiaz in any way is preferring Deepika over kareena in that sense. Infact, he out right said one of the reasons he chose her was to challenge HIMSELF. IF she was really that great of an actress, he would've said, " I found her to be great in OSO." Instead, he commented on her silence. He probably thought she suited hte character more because it didnt require as much as Geet did in JWM.

And yes, she is the flavor of the season so maybe it would be an interesting pairing.

However, the way he says, "If i had signed on kareena, she would've EASILY been able ot pull off the role," hints that that's what he feels. In once sentence, he praised kareena's talent, saying that this role would've been a piece of cake for her, and combined with his previous statement of deepika being a newcomer and signing her being a challenge, I presumed that he is having to do more work wiht her than he had to with kareena.

For god sake plzz dont compare a newcomer with a 7 YEAR OLD experience actress..for Kareena that role would have been a piece of a cake but not for Deepika..she is new,young and i am sure she wants to do different kinds of roles... plz give this girl a break!

Before concluding let me make another point. Abhishek Bachchan was appreciated in refugee but then panned, and that too very badly for his next 9 films. It took a Yuva to prove that he is a good actor. Now why did he get so many chances to prove is another matter altogether and will make a long argument. The point is now everyone considers him a good actor. 😛
