Yes. I am nervous. But I have prepared myself for it. I am not going to imitate a supermodel's catwalk, but will just be myself.
• Why did you choose to represent Anamika Khanna over other designers?
I believe in representing somebody whom I truly believe in. I love Anamika's creations as it matches my aesthetic values. Since I am walking the ramp for the first time, I'm glad to be doing it for Anamika.
She has styled my look for Dilli 6 and I depend on her for interesting ethnic wear like kurtis. She too wanted me to showcase her designs as her creations are meant for a normal girl like me. She has given the creations a fashionable twist. If Anamika's creations can suit a simple girl like me, it will suit anyone.
• Tell us about your makeover photoshoot.
Atul Kasbekar put me on a four-foot tall platform and I was wearing a five-inch high heel footwear. I was on the verge of getting vertigo. As for my look, one doesn't wake up looking like this. A lot of effort has been put in by Atul, make-up artist Mickey Contractor and designer Anamika.
For the shoot, my hair was tussled to get the Afro look. Mickey wanted to use a wig to avoid harming my hair, but I believe in being authentic. Also, I don't believe in donning wigs. Mickey wanted to style my hair in 'squiggly curls' so I insisted on letting them experiment with my hair.
• How have your parents reacted to your debut on the ramp?
They are looking forward to it. And they will be there in the audience to support me.
If Anamika's creations can suit a simple girl like me, it will suit anyone
