'Waqt' Maker's Next

Vipul Shah has made two films so far -- AANKHEN and WAQT -- and both starred Amitabh Bchchan and Akshay Kumar in principal roles. What is he attempting next?

Rumors are rife that the affable director has decided to repeat the two actors yet again. True? "I would love to work with Amit-ji and Akshay, but the fact is that I haven't decided on the star cast of my film. And that's purely because I haven't completed the script yet. Hence, the question of approaching any actor at this stage just doesn't arise."

What is he planning next? "It's an unusual subject. The plot got me all charged up, but will the actors be as enthusiastic when I narrate the story to them? That's something I'll know later. It's the kind of subject Hindi cinema hasn't witnessed yet. I am stepping into an alien territory this time around," Vipul smiles.

AANKHEN had a different story to offer as well. "Yes, and I was lucky that the actors agreed to work in a film with an offbeat storyline, besides supporting a new director. I hope they [the actors] are ready to accept a new challenge this time again," he smiles.
