Because he breaks the norms of success that they've been fed and nurtured on through their lifetimes. Conforming to societal stereotypes, written and unwritten and then earning money is their benchmark for success. They are literate. but lack wisdom. Their levels of maturity, understanding and wisdom is not beyond that. They live in their own wells of ugly cowardice and call the frog who jumped out to see the world the fool. They laugh at themselves and their own upbringing in the process. More than anything, Vikas understands the game and has seen the world far beyond anybody inside the house has, can and ever will possibly. And they know that. What more do they need to try and find solace in something they hope will break him? Fools!

Like once she gets bored of a person, she drops them like a hot potato or in this case "chawal" and moves on to the next person who'll satisfy her boredom. It's not necessarily a bad thing, cause it's how she is. But does that give her rights to belittle someone even in the name of "humour" just cause he/she doesn't satisfy your entertainment quota anymore?

I'd like to think a big fat "NO"

I wonder how loud she'll laugh if someone calls her something unfeminine. She'll rip them a new one is what she'll do. But since she's Arshi, she gets away with all this.

No, it's not humour in anybody's eyes except her own. It's low-key bullying. Something I'm sure she too has endured, but then, with reason, from what we've seen of her. Vikas doesn't give any genuine reason on the show to be subjected to bullying of any kind.
It's an interesting thought on how she'd react if someone called her something unfeminine. Hmmm... remember that photoshopping housemates takla that Salman had done on a WKV. I'll tell you she was not impressed. But I don't think she'll get away this week if she keeps it up. She's been on the wrong foot with Shilpa, that too for inadequate reason. This weekend might just be what she needs to go back to her pretentious self.

Aren't showbiz fraternity supposed to more open-minded and welcoming? This really bothers me because if these celebs have such deeply ingrained issues with LGBT community , no wonder how some of general public react to homosexuality!

I'm pretty sure there are people in the house who didn't even know the difference between transgender and bisexuality. I'd bet good money on it. And I'd win bigtime.

Chalo, chodo. Nothing can be done about it. You don't even have to be very literate to have a progressive mentality. You just have to mind your own business. Live and let live, and by default you're more open minded than half the population who thinks that people who are different in their orientation owe them something for tolerating their existence.

Am glad I've found people here who are as bothered by homophobia as I am. šŸ¤—

I agree. Tolerance and kindness don't have to be associated with education or familial background. I was born and brought up in a fairly conservative family but I have never been taught to or even felt like being intolerant to others with different point of views.
Now I have moved to quite a liberal society and I am just not used to seeing bullying and bashing just on the basis of someone's race, religion or sexuality. It deeply bothers me too.

In this age of internet and social awareess, I find these Hms' ignorance and intolerance unacceptable and unforgivable.

Sexuality itself isn't discussed openly in common households. It's like some people still believe in bees and flowers illustrations. Homosexuality is obviously on another level altogether. If there was anyway to measure "functional heterosexuality" just to fit into a box, India'd win the poll. Homosexuality is still considered a perversion here.

What baffles me is the mentality of the younger generation. Cause they're supposed to be more susceptible to change and more accepting of differences. But BB is basically a smaller version of what goes on in India.

Well, people conflate literacy and education with wisdom and moral rightitude. That's the heart of the marxist enterprise, isn't it? Most of India expects so as well. But one would have expected as Fleur mentioned that atleast educated people in showbiz (and I don't mean a masters or beyond, but who've done foundational schooling) would have more holistic views since the spectrum of people they meet are also varied. Looks like that's not so- childhood patterns seem to have a better stronghold. Also shows what a lot of work needs to be done at schools and colleges. How do you teach a child to be a better human? But then, shouldn't this come from homes? Yes, we've digressed.
Oh well, Viks FTW.
