Butter stains are difficult to get rid off and clothes were easy to get rid off so he chose the latter.

If you've ever had butter smeared on your clothes, you'd know that butter actually leaves really bad oil stains on your clothes and is VERY VERY difficult to wash out! They hand-wash their clothes in Bigg Boss, so I can totally understand why Hiten would remove his clothes. He obviously didn't bring his whole wardrobe with him. And he said exactly that - kapray kharaab ho jaayenge. Pretty simple to understand.
