By this way, half the house should get support coz most of them are punjabi. Akanksha,Bani,Nitibha(unless she is a Kashmiri Pandit but I've met several Punjabi kauls in North India), Gaurav, Rahul, Karan, Rohan, Sahil and other names that I can't recollect at this point of time.,

BTW the punjabi population is a minority in India. A total of about 5-6% I guess.

Plus, I do think other than the seven sisters region, people don't necessarily vote for the same caste, creed or whatsoever.

Thankfully the Indian society has evolved.

@bold I know you are not saying anything as such but its just I think a viewer should not support a HM simply because he/she belongs to viewer's state. That's why I said at least me and people I know who watch BB are not supporting her because she is bengali.😳 I don't know about other bengalis 😛. The idea sounds wrong to me. I hope this is really not the case. 😊

Ofcourse a viewer should not support a HM merely because he belongs to his / her own state...but it is a very natural tendency to do so for so many. 😊

There was a singer from Nagaland who I think won or was runners up in Indian Idol the season he was competing and he drove his state to a frenzy when it came to voting for him. Then, there was a Sardar kid with a lovely voice in Indian Idol, (unfortunately, later he died in some mishap in Mauritius or Maldives...don't remember where now)...Indian Idol guys used to scream every weak how people from Punjab are overwhelmingly voting for him. He did very well too...That excellent female singer girl Bhumi Trivedi if I remember name right used to receive votes in many lakhs from her state Gujarat reports said...

I discovered IF in BB Season-5 and have had so many sweet friends here since then. I remember how it was a frenzied war that season with Juhi with her massive telly-fan base on one side and Mahek Chahal commanding massive fan following on the other hand on IF.----------------- IF, I don't know if patterns have changed here now, but at that time overwhelmingly too many members used to be from Canada-US...mostly girls---many of them lovely young Punjabans and needless to say mostly on Mahek's side! Its a different, fascinating subject, but too many start looking at a favourite contestant as if they are looking at oneself at some stage...😆

Needless to say, for fan polarization a contestant has to be a strong contender. No Punjabi would waste his vote for a BESURAA in Indian Idol just as he / she won't give a damn to someone like Akanksha for example!

I think you understand the point I am making and I perfectly understand what you implied there. My response was to just make it clearer...😛

I agree with you Cruiser. I'm not supporting the trend of people voting for the members of their caste/community/region/religion etc. But that is the unfortunate reality. Not all, but some people do takes these things into account.

Case in point : Elections in India

Caste based elections in India is a reality. When people can choose the head of the state based on his/her caste, winner of BB is a very small thing. And this is not even a winner. Its just supporting a contestant. Again not saying that this should be the norm but this is the reality atleast upto some extent.

Cruiser you are like chalta-phirta encyclopedia of reality TV 😆. My knowledge about reality shows is very limited. I don't even follow BB every season.

But what you said is the bitter reality. Still one can hope that viewers will vote for someone who is deserving according to them, not only because he/she belongs to their state/religion/caste.
