I was arguing for the fact that india is a democracy and everyone has the right to express their opinion. Seconldy , no one was bashing him for his political work, people were bashing his desire to sue ajaz for his comments.

Casting a slur on someone without proof is wrong and the victim is well within his rights to file a defamation case...freedom of speech doesn't mean you can say ANYTHING..people should read the rights in detail...there are some restrictions

Defamation: The clause (2) of Article 19 prevents any person from making any statement that injures the reputation of another. With the same view, defamation has been criminalised in India by inserting it into Section 499 of the I.P.C.

Well my dear you see people in the name of freedom of speech and expression will do anything. Freedom of speech and expression doesn't mean you go out and shout Mr. X Murdabad.
