May be they get more, depending on now long they stay. And the winner takes the big prize money in addition to that. Seriously, 50 lakhs doesn't seem like a lot of prize money, pretty sure the host takes more per episode!

Either that or it's really just about being seen, which like you pointed doesn't really seem to help the winners at least.
