I think people here (not everyone but some) have been very unfairly biased against Elli. I think the way people talk about her is so rude and unfair. Before making any judgement about her people should consider that this girl was not born in India. She is not even remotely related to India in any way. The only reason she is in India is because she loves Indian culture, music, and movies. The amount of respect she has for a foreign culture is incredible. She has mastered the language and culture in a very small amount of time and is doing her best to learn even when people around her keep making fun of her accent and just about everything else.
And it is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to expect her to understand everything everyone says in Hindi just because she seems to understand and speak Hindi moderately well. I can tell you that because living in USA I know a lot of people who move here who have a hard time understanding the nuances of the language, even though they know English pretty well. Salman has a very sarcastic sense of humor (which I love) but it would be hard for someone to understand it even if they know Hindi unless they have been exposed to Indian society for some time.
What people should remember is that it takes a lot of guts to change your life and learn a completely different culture ( I remember when I moved to US when I was 11 and how scary it was) and this makes me admire her even more.
I hope she wins BB7 and also gets to do a movie with Salman because they will make a really cute on screen (and off screen 😉) couple.
