I am from south and we eat non veg on dussrrah this is one of the few festivals where non veg is allowed

And for halal meat or Jhataka meat -...don't we eat non veg anywhere outside our home ...do we check how the meat is cut before ordering non veg ...the people I know don't check or care for it ...yes if few does , they have to eat at home 😆

Ah big deal. Hinduism has so many different interpretations, there is no one way to follow the religion or celebrate these festivals. As MB said, no meat thing is strictly North Indian I believe.

Whats up with all this Islam/Hinduism chatter. Why can't people just respect each others sentiments? Freaking bigots.

Happy Dussehra to everyone.

In bengal , durga pooja is alll abt mutton , fish fry n what not ..biryanis..kathi rolls n the works..
go to any pandal and its jam packed for that..of course apart from durga darshan!
I myself make it a pt to have all those yummm stuff every year in durga pooja.
i m partly from south too..and esp on dusherra, we have ayudh pooje...which is basically cooking all kind of non-veg delicacies on the dusherra day!!
In North, it is abt navratas being abt fasting and having fast wala food like kuttu atta pooris, aalu, sainda namak.. (esp punjabis n baniyas...other castes dont follow this much..its popular in these 2 castes only and maybe jatts too)...rest communities in north also..dont follow fasting so strictly!

Halal mutton for dussehra ?? This is not right for people who follow this festival.

Here is a Knowledge Update for u re Durga Puja. Navratri or Navami, the 9th Day of Durga Puja, Maa is worshipped as Maa Chamunda who wants Raw Flesh. Traditional Bengali Families sacrifice Goats, the same Meat is cooked as per Rituals i.e. WITHOUT Onion/Garlic & offered to Maa, later distributed as Bhog-Prasad to everybody. Dusserra or Dasami, Maa leaves for Kailash. As per Traditional belief, Maa wants to see all her Children happy & properous so Fish is cooked in almost every House & Sweets are distributed.

So there is no harm in eating Mutton during Navami or Dusserra. It's altogether a different issue during Navratri though.

Well, I did not 'backlash' and I completely disagree with the person who made this post but you did
say: 'the hindu members here themselves dont knw wats allowed and wats not allowed in their religious festivities. and are making topics upon topics'
and that is not fair because that targets all the Hindu members present in this post. I being one of them and I certainly know my rules.
I am sorry, I know this is a stupid post but I was just defending myself...
I think you meant to target the person who made this post so it's probably my fault for interfering... Sorry.

I don't like this. People are arguing like animals over an animal...
Let me just say that all of you who are disrespecting a religion (whether it is Hindu, Islam, Christianity or any other religion) are being complete morons...
