Oh my god... this is still open!!
Yaar why are ppl saying that we are following age old beliefs and are narrow minded!!
I would have called it narrow.minded if gauhar would have disrespectedthe festival in some way butshe didnt!!
Its abouy beliefs!! She is free to believe whatever she likes.. who are we to impose our thinking on her??
God i sometimes feel ppl in this forum really need to get a life.. gauhar isa free individual living in a free country.. she has all the right to decide for herself!!
I m a hindu and i believe she did nothing wrong!!
And i request the mods to close this topic asap!!

It's personal choice...Its not like she was against it or anything. She gave her respect by standing on the side and wore the same clothes. Its totally on personal belief. You nor I have any right to criticize it. She participated as best as she could. Muslims pray namaaz on Eid, would you want other Hindu contestants to pray on Eid just to take part in the tradition? Let's leave religion out of this.

they act for a living
she will hav no problem in doing puja if it was on a film set
same goes for srk sallu aamir etc

bros n sis its just like Muslims will not ask their Hindu frnds to offer prayers with them in masjid during eid .. although they will call them to eat biryani with them during eid dinner ...

as a Muslim it is very imp. that she doesn't take part in poja ..same as a hindu frnd will not eat meat even though his or her Muslim frnd specially made it for her ( as it is against her believe)...

u don't need to be perfect in each and every religious act but u try to do ur best ... both Muslim n Hindus ...it was her best effort .. otherwise it would have been easy for her to be a part of poja .. it was right decision as a Muslim ...

Islam strictly forbid what u r actually taking as very lightly ..so it comes to actually saying if she had taken part in poja and all then it is know as shirk in Islam ..which is a biggest sin in Islam ..so if u guys would object on eating meat ..then accept this as a very basic point of Islam of her not taking part in poja ...

no hard feelings for anybody's religion ... u have ur principles ..v have ours n saying that my Muslims frnds take part in poja etc etc ..doesn't mean that they r doing it right ... simple as many Hindus will not follow their religious acts ..even in term of what they eat etc etc... so if 99,999 ppl out of 100,000 do something wrong it will still remain wrong and taking part in poja would have been very very against Islamic beliefs.

i hope this doesn't offend anybody
