Yes, he had a lot of support of Ranvijay both in Splitsvilla and Roadies. True that tasks were done by him and he does tasks pretty good but in Roadies this season unlike previous seasons he neither had to play politics nor he had to make strategies even regarding tasks those were done by team captains. In Splitsvilla, where ever strategy was needed he messed up, like he got played by the girl (i forgot her name), who was his biggest enemy. Then certain things which people overlook is tasks and twists are designed by producers of the show and Ranvijay with his standing can very well influence it accordingly.
