I hug my gf who is my BFF and I would also take her name in comparison to someone;s spouse, because as of now, I am unmarried and the closest that someone comes to me besides my parents is my BFF so she = someone else spouse in my life right now.

Well, if you insist, that someone's wife equals to your BFF, it's wrong that doesn't equate. Off course it depends on her/his acceptance in your family & mental attachment. If she is as close as a family member, you can do that...but you will have hard time explaining that she equals to your family member...so you could only do that with people who personally know you. So a better comparison would be between established relations...
But here the situation is opposite and it matters too. someone Attacked your fictitious best friend and you Attack his family. Well if u want to display your vindictive attitude then u can do anything, who stops. But if you claim to be just and you have insaniyat etc...then you are dead wrong...unless you share similar relationship with her...BFF can't be a direct family member, so it definitely indicate a deeper relation than regular friendship, that you calim its a just counter attack on someone's wife. So BFF on same level of wife? If you insist, yes many eyebrows will be raised, you care or don't care, thatsa seperate issue ... 😉
